Kudos to all the organizers.Thats a great way to lead by example. What a good example of love and care for community in action. The consciousness of those who litter is bound to be impacted. And, yes we are a proud little spot on mother earth. Our coastline though mostly quiet, splashes serene moments on every beach that skirts our treasure.

Sorry I am not there to join in this excellent project.

Unable to attend to the International Beach Cleanup in Treasure Beach. Will do so in Lund on the North West Pacific Coast of BC,Canada.

Will be in TB Nov 1st to May 1st and interested in a clean up of the Back Sea Side of Great Bay.
It is a 'out of sight, out of mind' beach area that needs some serious attention.

Most likley need a boat or two for hauling. Possibly a whole group of visiting tourists & local folk (hike in)& enjoy visiting this unique coastal wilderness of Jamaica.

Much Respect to those engaged on Sept.17th Beach CleanUp!

A VERY SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY WIDE BEACH CLEAN-UP
In recognition of International Coastal Clean-up day, Saturday September 17, 2011 from 6:00 AM – Noon members of the Treasure Beach Community and surrounding areas worked side by side to clean up our Beaches. The information collected will help to educate all about the serious consequences of trashing our Coastal areas, so that we may enjoy a cleaner ocean all year round. Thanks go out to all community members that came out, as well as members of the Lyons Club of St. Elizabeth South, and the Bethel Gospel Chapel Puppet Ministry. Let us all continue to work all year long to keep our Beaches and Community clean.

You can view photos here or by the link in the Photo Gallery. Thanks to Celeste Anderson for the photos!

Now it would be even nicer if those who use the beaches would not mess them up in the first place. Pride, people, pride!

Are there trash barrels on the beaches? Signs asking people to please pitch trash into those barrels?

I wish I could be there! Each trip I take to Jamaica I pick up trash on the beaches. It is such an important project.
