I was on the phone to TB at 2:30 this AM when my man felt a strong earthquake. Who else feel it?

According to the report at link below, looks like epicenter was close to TB

Yep, I felt it, and so did my cat. I've heard from a few others who felt it as well.

It's quite odd to get quakes in TB regardless of the legendary Port Royal mash-up right?

Wasn't there another quake just a few months ago? If so, isn't it unusual to have them so closely together?

The one last night was a 4.4. The one a few months ago was a 5.0.

And, yes, I've been living here 18 years and only remember about 2 or 3 other earthquakes in that whole time previous to these.

Hmmm!

Almost succumbed to a murder/suicide situation.

I have experienced earthquakes while driving on a large city bridge in Vancouver BC 5.4 & also in my shaken little house deep in the BC coastal rain forest at the end of HWY#101.

Gale force winds of 125mph on a 18' aluminum skiff at 2:30 AM in Desolation Sound BC to make a shellfish farmgate delivery to a Canadian Goverment dock.

A 747 emergency plane crash in Bangledash 27 mins. after a near nose dive into the Bay of Bengal.

Near death in a kitchen fire in N. Quebec Canada

But never a hurricane. Yet I've held fast to some major scary situations. When I hear tell tales of hurricanes in Jamaica I do soo... shiver.

Great believer in Emergency Preparedness; charged cell phone, water, sealed foods, flashlight & planning. (all at home & in boat or car) oh yes plus a healthy disposition of clear mind & physical sustance. Knowing thyself & your neighbor helps too! ;-)

In TB how do folks prepare? Love to hear more...

Hmmm, whites, kushumpeng, lighters/matches, candles, biscuits and cheese.

That's for me. For the missus and kids, the whole shebang plus a 4 X 4 loaded, just in case.

I like those mini shortwave radios. Can pick up worldwide with 2 AA batteries.
