I would LOVE to return to live, but still need a few more years before I can affort to do it. Is the ideal place, and CRIME, tell me a place that is crime free. I lived there before, so I know how it is.

I am ready to return home/TB to live, I think about it everyday.
I feel like my life have not changed much living here in the UK.
It is very hard to make it here, so depressing.

I will be once I get all that I can get out of the USA and my daughter has completed college. I see people who are not from the area wanting to move there, so why not me. I miss TB but I have commitments here so I have to place returning home on the back burner for now.

When I reach retirement (only need the Medicare Coverage) I hope to rent a place in TB for six months (Oct-Mar.) each year. That way I will never be cold again :>)
Funny thing is that I born, raised, and still live in New Orleans. However, the winter is till to much for me.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike

I also live in the USA and find it hard to return everytime I'm in Jamaica. The problem is jobs and healthcare. Would love to see some moneyed interest or the Govt build a small hospital or clinic nearby. I agree with you on the Medicare part MikeyMike, but did you say you were concerned about winter in New Orleans? You got me scratching my head on that one brother!

I too wish there was better health care in Jamaica. The health care sucks to the MAX. I feel like Treasure Beach is last on the list for health care. Black River hospital????. We need health care in Treasure Beach, would be nice to see China start sending some doctors, investing some money in the medical field, after all they taking over the world.

Me too, this month has been the worst for me. As soon as I earn some money and said this is mine a bill drop through the door, I just said omg not again. You have more control of your own life in Jamaica.

I completely agree with the comments above, while there are lots of problems in the NHS in the UK, I can say that as a patient you will get good health care.. I spent some of my childhood in Treasure beach and always said that one day that I would love to come back and set up my own dr surgery there. I have seen many instances where family members have been given the same medication for different condition's, many of which are useless, or been diagnosed with disease which have been left too late to treat because of the lack of resources.

With Gods help I will qualify as a Dr next year and it still is my dream to come back one day to Treasure beach and fulfill my dream. However, it takes money to do this. More investment is needed in this area.

Jamaica and Treasure beach is a wonderful place to live, but unfortunately it takes alot of money!

Medicare does not cover you outside of the U.S.

You are sort of right Medicare, it only covers you out of the USA if you are within certain Border proximities, i.e. just beyond the Mexican or Canadian borders. Otherwise it will only cover true medical emergencies out of the USA.

The point is that we need a better healthcare system a yard. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we have a more accessable , and more affordable, system back in the 1950's and 60's? Say what you want, but the Colonials did a few things right back then (including our Primary School system).

I understand MikeyMike; just giving you a hard time.
ONE LOVE!!

Not sure where my post went that I did about 3 days ago but I'll try again...

My Jamaican born husband is desperate to come home but your health care system really worries me. Everything else over there has to be much better than it is here in the UK :-)

If you have a bad medical problem you go to Kingston or Miami.

Why look to the Chinese to establish a health facility in Treasure Beach? Why must we always look to others to do that which we can or should do for ourselves?

If enough former residents of Treasure Beach truly wish to return to this community they could and should do their part in seeing to its improvement.

Furthermore, there are great business opportunities to be had in such "improvement" projects. Health care is big business; which should not be left to the government alone. So, anyone having the dough, here's a great opportunity.

It might be beyond the capacity of one person to finance but if the right group of persons were to get together and jointly pursue this business idea, it just might work.

I hear you about looking to the Chinese, it's a huge opportunity for some of the people that left Treasure Beach and became doctors and nurses I guarantee you they would have no interest.

May the almighty guide the sick people in Treasure Beach.

returing back to treasure beach to live would make my dream come true.job opportunity and medical might not be the best down there but just the taught of been home in TB make you feel happy.TB no problem,my dream is to win the lottery and build a hospital in TB so all those people with medical problem can return home and dont have to worried about how far they have to go to get medical help, help will be right there for them.UK girl hopefully by then you will be a DR and move to TB to live.

One day soon, the cold in Canada is enough to make you go crazy some day's. It is Sept 18-2011 and I'm already dreading another winter in Canada. This time of the year is nice. The days can get warm but the evening is chilled. The leaves changing colors is very beautiful and very little to no mosquitoes. Stay loving and strong.
