Kudos and thanks go out to Mission Marketing for their volunteer work within St. Elizabeth over the years. Mission Marketing has been coming to Jamaica for the past 32 years, coming as often as 4 times per year and worked on over 45 projects over those years. They are a group founded by Mr. and Mrs. Frost in conjunction with the United Methodist Churches mainly from the region of North Indiana, however their group now includes members from Canada and Florida with two spin-off groups coming out of Indiana. Over the years the group has mainly worked in South St. Elizabeth, but has also worked on projects in Westmoreland and Clarendon.

The past two weeks found this group in Pedro Plains working with the St. Peters Anglican Church, the Southfield Diabetic Assoc., and the Jamaica Diabetic Assoc. Their project is constructing a diabetes clinic which would offer medical treatment, nutritional education, family life education, and support groups for families living with diabetes. This is the first clinic of its kind to be built in Jamaica and the Jamaica Diabetic Association is hoping this will be a model clinic for other parishes to copy. Their projected opening is for September 2004.

We wish all involved in this project continued success and again we would like to especially thank the 30 volunteers representing Mission Marketing for spending the last two weeks here working very hard! We hope to see you all again very soon.

Right behind the Pedro Plains school and next to the St. Peter's Church.
