The TB Foundation’s Annual Villa Raffle is absolutely incredible so be sure to take part this year ! I know because my sister Lisa won last year: a week of bliss at Shakti Home which she so kindly offered to Sarah, four year old Walker and myself in January. What luck ! We were delighted to have the wonderful opportunity to experience Treasure Beach at its best. Shakti Home is directly on the beach and exquisitely designed, the food fabulous and the ambience heavenly. The Treasure Beach Foundation is such a worthy cause so please do not hesitate to support them by buying raffle tickets !
Be sure to see some photos on the photo gallery.
Do we know when the next raffle will take place

As my brother stated above, I was the very lucky winner of the Treasure Beach Foundation villa raffle last year. I would like to thank so many people for making this dream a reality for me and my brother's family. Karen and Peter Kennedy work tirelessly with a dedicated group of volunteers to make the raffle happen year after year, and the academic achievements of the children who benefit from the scholarship program is testament to their success. Thanks to the owners of Shakti Home for donating their villa for the week. Audrey, Sheldon and Rebecca's team made sure we were all very well fed, entertained and blissfully relaxed. Thanks to Aman Parchment for safely transporting us by bus, and to Dennis Abrahams and Richard Parchment for volunteering to take us on the Shallow Bar and up the Black River. My nephew Walker especially loved seeing the crocs and dolphins. Thanks also to Joshua, who gave Sarah a very much needed massage. I had the most fun introducing Walker to his new Jamaican friends and watching him try to catch lizards and minnows and try new things like bammy and breadfruit. It was a wonderful learning experience for him and a pleasure for us all. Thank you again Treasure Beach Foundation.
where is the raffle this year, most time tix sell in april what gives.
why is it that nobody will say what happen to the raffle this year?
Four people have asked about the raffle this year, yet no answers. Is this a sore subject. Is it that the Treasure Beach foundation is no longer sponsoring it? Somebody must know.
I apologize for not having answered the questions about when this year's raffle will be held. Regular readers of the Forum know I am normally quite responsive, so I can well understand the confusion.
Due to numerous reasons, I have not been reading TB.net for about two weeks. (I usually read it every day.) Both Eric and Rebecca told me people were asking about the villa raffle would be held--and suggested I post an answer.
Two prior villa raffles have been held in August; and one each has been held in April, May, and June.
This year we had a new function--Art for Education--which was held in May. We are now sending out the very last pieces of art to the high bidders.
We have the offerings for the 2011 Villa Raffle lined up, and when you see them I believe you'll agree they are quite wonderful. What we have not yet established is the date the raffle will be held. (Treasure Beach Foundation is run by unpaid volunteers, all of whom hold "real" full-time jobs. Running the raffle is very time-consuming, and I needed to give our people "breathing room" before starting to work on this year's raffle. Plus, GSAT scores will be out in about two weeks, and we will then have to determine and announce the scholarship winners on an ASAP basis. I am not complaining, but all these efforts take an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work.)
My guess is we are looking at late summer or mid-fall for the 2011 Villa Raffle.
If you want to be certain you're on our notification list, I suggest you do two things:
* Go to www.TreasureBeachFoundation.org and sign up to be on our mailing list. Please wait for a few days to do this because the fill-in form seems to have disappeared from our site.
* Go to our Facebook page (Treasure Beach Foundation) and "like" us.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thank you for posting this information, Miss Kennedy. Much appreciated. Your foundation does great things in Treasure Beach especially for the students.
Checkbook in hand, I'm ready to WIN.
Not only you Van. I'm ready too.
