Are there buses between major areas (like maybe Sav to some where near St. Mary)? Or Sav to Ochie town and then taxi to St. Mary?

You can get anywhere in Jamaica with a the bus and route taxis.

Itchy foot you can get just about anywhere in Jamaica by bus.

From Sav to Kingston then Kingston to Notto bay would put you in St.Mary no problem.

Wild ride in them busses to boot. Enjoy the roller coaster!

Bus travel in Jamaica may not be what you are accustomed to.

Check this video on youtube for an idea of what you would be getting into.......and yes it is a realistic version of what to expect.

Itchy foot, there are may routes from Sav to St. Mary. Going through Town may not be the best (unless you actually want to go there, of course). My generic advice is to talk to people in the area about the best way to do it. But it certainly is possible to get where you want to go via public transportation. Here's our take on it.

FYI: That video was shown to us at Peace Corps training back in 1995 as a tongue in check representation of public transportation. Ah for the days of $10 fares!

It is not that I really neeed or want to go through town.

What i would like is to not have to change route ttaxi's a million times. But, I also can not afford to charter a taxi for the whole trip.

So If there is a bus that willl carry me from Sav or Santa to Ochie orr town it may the best way to to get the fuerthest ffor the least $.
