Treasure Beach Forum: TB Runnin's: Equality.. What does it mean?

Do women want equality with men? Are we all equal? Or are some more equal than others as in 'Animal Farm'. Are all men created equal?
What do you think?

They want equality when it benefits them, but they do not otherwise. And they use their 'femanine' side to thier advantage through manipulation.

It seems it is, once again, time to remind everyone of what our mothers used to say. "If you can't say something nice, don't bother saying it at all." Let's cool things down here folks and play nice. Opposing opinions are fine but don't have to be voiced at the expense of another. Insults are not fun to read nor will they be tolerated on this forum. Please remember, positive Treasure Beach, positive Jamaica, everyone wins.

I come here to learn about news affecting Treasure Beach or people looking for people or programs, races, the villa raffle and so forth. If I didn't enjoy reading good healthy debates I would not be looking at all these different postings. This debate on men versus women has zero to do with Treasure Beach and is plain annoying. If I knew the people involved I would tell them to "take it outside".

Bless you "take it outside" for stating what I wanted to say but couldn't find the right words to use. I want to know about Calabash or whatever is replacing it, environmental issues, new restaurants and places to stay, and if babies are born or people have gone to be with the Lord. I want to know how the scholarship students are doing, what happens at the sports park and what's going on with protecting our precious sea turtles. I know some discussions might turn tourists off because people think tourists only want perfection, but I disagree and think they want the truth because they know in their hearts how special Treasure Beach is even if we have some problems. This means I also want to know about the canal, the big stone "wall" in Great Bay and if people are putting fences up on what should be beaches for all of us to enjoy. Thank you to the Webmasters for doing such an excellent job.

I guess that is the can of worms that gets opened when the title of something has the word Vagina in it. What did you expect. Generally, when a guy hears the word Vagina, he perks up!

Take it outside,I am the one responsible. I am sorry if I annoyed you,but since you enjoy healthy debates, are you suggesting that a debate like what could take place on this topic would be of no benefit to TBites [edited by TB.Net]? I am not the brightest star in the sky, but I think you may have insulted some of my breds. Someone already insulted Carlton, calling me him.
I have seen posts which suggest that God does not exist, did that not annoy you? What about the treatment of gays, was that relevant to TB? The Vagina Monologues? Consistency is the hallmark of truth.

Why is it in other posts, if people do not like the subject, it is said; "If you don't like something, then don't read it". I can't stop laughing, because the people who do not want to talk about it are talking about it more than anyone! You are posting more about not posting than the people posting! If no one would have said anything after Spooky Dude and Soldier's comments, this thread would have died along time ago! You are just fueling the fire when you are trying to put it out!

This is not meant only for Spooky Dude, but I wonder why some people feel a need to use TreasureBeach.net as a forum to inspire debates on ANY topic in the world. Using Spooky Dude's logic, we could banter about Osama bin Laden, under what circumstances abortion should be allowed, if the moon landing was real, if the price of gold is being manipulated by the Swiss and if Donald Trump is going to run for president of the United States. These are ALL legitimate topics for healthy debates and one could argue they all have something to do with Treasure Beach. There are other forums more appropriate for topics which do not have a direct bearing on Treasure Beach. I have no problem with debates but let's try to keep our topics to things which directly affect Treasure Beach.

It appears that the trite and mundane is what is preferred. Hummingbirds and doggies are nice and special, but people are more important and surely there must be at least one person in the room who has something worthwhile to say. Shouldn't the civil thing to do,if you have no interest in a topic, is ignore it? Where is the positive, everybody wins being displayed? What is coming through is a kind of selfishness and pettiness which is unbecoming and and flies in the face of what TBNet just posted? Is the advice just for some people? It seems some people are really more equal than others!

Excuse me Chicago, but you must not have looked through the threads. There are MANY topics that do not directly affect Jamaica. We talk about disasters throughout the world for example. All I can say is Shhhh. But if you want to debate debating, I am game!

Facebook is perfect for the kind of debates wanted here by some, and I sometimes engage in them with my friends. Then again those here who want debates would have to provide their real names on Facebook. For all we know Spooky Dude and Bob are women.

take it outside,{edited by TBNet}
So what if we are women,do you have something against women?
Anyway, misunderstandings galore abound between men and women and we both want the same things which have nothing to do with being equal, but just recognizing and respecting the differences, is what is needed. All men were created equal by the fact of being men, but there is where the equality stops. Some people feel good knowing they may have made a difference being alive and some people just hate to be alive and couldn't care less. Light a candle my friend, shed some light! Trust me Spooky is a Dude, for all I know Bob is a cat!!

Again i say ONe LOVE for we are all equal! Yes many topics are covered on this forum, not all related to treasure beach but thats good. Keep it real! spooky dude your topics are too random and argumentative {edited by TBNet} youd have more fun using other forums like twitter of facebook where you could be yourself or a fake name and be as random and argumentative as you like :-) respect

It is a [edited by TB.Net] generalization to imply that women are not equal with men.Where are the fact to supportthat?Take this website for example, many of the well known contributors to this site are women. In business men and women are rubbing shoulder to shoulder, politics women and men, education women and men, smoking weed women and men.

Native, so many people hear swear by their Bible. Sometimes they do this only when convinient to their needs and wants. What does the Bible say about this??

Does anyone ever wonder why is it that in the Abrahamic religions, i.e. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity (primarily Catholicism), women have been traditionally relegated to second class membership, and often have to congregate in seperate areas from the males.

We may want to dress things up nowadays because we are so "enlightened" now, but if we trace the genesis of these religions we'll see that they were born out of discrimination of not only women, but also whole groups of people who were different from the progenerators of these beliefs.

Glenn, the Bible says "not everyone that says Lord Lord shall enter into the KINGdom of Heaven, but HE that doeth the will of my Father who sent me". I remember this from childhood so I can't quote verse and chapter. This leads me to the question: isn't a KINGdom ruled by a male? And "only HE (male) that doeth the will of my Father..." shall enter. Does that mean no women in Heaven? Oh oh.

If a country has no leader, you have mob rule. In every sphere of life leadership is required to give meaning direction and orderliness to our endeavours.
In the relationship between men and women it is the same thing. Somebody has to 'wear the pants', simple. It does not mean that that the male will see the female as inferior, it does not mean that the male is smarter.Usually,in Jamaica, the female is much brighter and more accomplished academically, which shouldn't mean that she should relegate her husband to being the whimp, but rather should become his most trusted aide, and not usurp his position as leader of their little unit.
In the general scheme of things women are increasingly playing dominant roles and out performing men in many areas and are not equal to men but way ahead. So are individual men superior to other men, in other words, not all mangoes are mangoes! So were we created equal?

glen, the girls will be there; 'human' does not exclude 'woman', and 'man' means mankind. I know you are pulling the ladies' legs, but there are other ways to do that!

Everyone, this really isn' the place to discuss religion in these terms. The discussion is a valid one, the location is not.

We're asking you to please not post further religious debates here.
