Thank you so much for posting this and for participating on this forum. We are very pleased to welcome The St. Elizabeth Parish Development Committee to this forum.
Unfortunately, I and I am sure many others would have liked to attend but with this short of a notice it is impossible for me to do so. Please, next time give us ample time to rearrange our schedules so we will have a chance to participate.
Looking forward to hearing lots from you in the future!
Hi Rebecca i will be in Treasure Beach from April 13 to 26 could you please tell me if there will be a event with in these days Thanks
Can some of the local residents post notice of the workshop in shop windows for those who are not on e-mail otherwise this will be futile through poor attendance.
sounds like the foundations for true community participation are being well thought out by the
organizers
This is an opportunity for the Parish Council, a body that is part of the greater community, to participate locally and face to face. I'm sure the coming gatherings and projects will be announced widely and timely.
Welcome SEPDC.
Ah, what means the "Greater Treasure Beach Development Plan"? Makes me a bit nervous. What sort of "development" does the "planning consultant" have in mind? Anyone know?
Thanks.
Hi Canada. You have to ask the SEPDC as I wouldn't know. Hopefully, if there is they will post it here.
I wish I could attend but that is not possible, hope the issues of roads, water, and security, especially security will be high on the agenda. We want to keep TB the safest community in jamaica, for the residents and visitors alike.
We know that where there is development crime is never far behind.
The Great Bay end is relatively safer than the Calabash Bay,Billies Bay end. This is because for Great Bay there is only one way in and one way out by road. This makes it easier to secure.
It is fitting that Mr Dugauy will be hosted at the TB hotel. This is where it all started. The pioneer of TB tourism,Mr Dicker, also a canadian would be very please,if he were still around.
I do hope his legacy will serve to motivate and inspire the proceedings
The Jamaica Environmental Trust JET, has offered to participate in the sustainable development of Treasure Beach. Diana McCauley has already attended meetings encouraging the biological integrity of the area.
As a stakeholder interested in the economic and environmental development of the area, I hope to see JET involved in the information sharing that will drive the decisions along the way. They are local, independent and objective. They come with a wealth of knowlege and a great network.
Later can be greater.
Yes to JET being instrumental in helping guide the community as to whats best long term.
Diana I hope your interest for TB and the area is still there.
Environment. Crime. Slow development with guidance as to how to build ... all issues that can either help us keep our part of the world in balance ... or not.
Hi everybody, yes we are still interested in TB, we are working with the community on sea turtles at the moment. I was away for a bit and didn't see this about the St. Elizabeth Parish Development Committee until just now. How did it go? Please, if there is something in particular you want us to see, e-mail us at jamentrust@cwjamaica.com - can't promise to check TB.net every day...
