By Argelyn Stephenson on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 - 10:52 pm: Edit PostAll past students and staff of Newell High School are invited to join in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the institution. Various activities have been scheduled to celebrate the achievements of the school.
A barbeque and gospel concert will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the institution's auditorium.
On Thursday, July 28, 2011, the 40th Anniversary Banquet will be held at the Everglades (Near Parotee, outside of Black River). The cost is $3,500.00 (single) and $6,000.00 (couple).
On Monday, August 01, 2011 a Sports Extravaganza will be held in which competitions will be held between past and current students.
An anniversary T-shirt will be on sale in colours that will represent each decade. Interested persons are asked to indicate their interest in getting their t-shirts when purchasing their tickets for the various events.
Donations in cash or kind will be accepted to support the events planned. All proceeds from the events are in aid of the school's development.
