Treasure Beach Forum: TB Runnin's: Searching for Fresh Homegrown Arts & Crafts

After cruising through the work of artists shown on this web-site's Art Gallery, we were wondering why the talent pool hasn't extended to other artists and crafters, whose work we might have seen in private collections or in their studios.
Are works exhibited in the Mermaid Gallery by Elizabeth and others, such as by the wood sculptor LT (Levon Taylor) restricted from being listed on this Gallery site? It seems that term "Treasure Beach" artist ought to have grown beyond the four charter members.

By the time some of us return to TB, we might have dropped by Harmony Hall in Ochie to pick up a piece of work from the Intuitive genre, or scouted out new works at the National and Mutual Galleries or poked our heads into the studios at the Edna Manley School of Art, all in Kingston or chosen a ceramic object from David Pinto's studio at Good Hope in Trelawny, or a surprise collage-d mixed media from a back-a-yard mystic.
Our appetites are whetted to suss out those artists with fresh insights and visions who can sustain a mash of emotional responses.

Maybe the people listed in the art gallery section have to pay for their listings. True?

There is no fee for being listed in the Art Gallery section. If you are an artist living in TB and want to display your works in the Art Gallery section, contact us.

Zed, LT was asked to be in the Art Gallery a long time ago and declined.

If LT sees this post, I hope he reconsiders. He does lovely things.

Rebecca I know you are a very busy lady but I hope you can convince more people to be in that art gallery section. I would love to know who more of them are so I could buy things from some new artists when I visit next time.
