We are looking into renting a 2 bedroom condo or villa for end March and found villa Arcadia. I saw few favourable reviews and posts. If anybody here stayed or knows this house I would like to hear from them.
We will not have a car and we are wondering if the place is not too isolated, how easy is to get a taxi or another form of transportation to or from the villa ?
We are travelling with a 2 year old girl. Do you know other budget 2 br condo or villa (can be without staff, maximum $1,000 for one week)?

villa arcadia is a beautiful place with a garden and pool and very rural surroundings. I guess when you want a taxi to pick you up, you will have to ask their staff to make a phonecall or two. Easy.

Villa Arcadia is lovely and is an extremely good buy. House is quite liveable and attractive. Nice pool. Good staff. Good food. I believe it's priced so well because it has only 2 bedrooms and is not directly on the sea. A cell phone works from the house or roadside and you can call a taxi to pick you up and take you to a more populated area of Treasure Beach. Local drivers are also always available to take you on day trips.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Arcadia for a week in February and just loved it. We are walkers so we walked to Calabash Bay a couple times (about an hour walk each way). It is quite isolated, but we didn't mind at all. Miss Millie was a WONDERFUL cook and Teddy kept the pool nice and clean every day. They do provide a cell phone but we didn't need it. I would think you could call a taxi to set up a ride when you need it - I got a card from Strikey (I think that was his name) who is a taxi driver (passed us on our walks) - he also runs a jerk stand in the next village.
