Jamaica Day was observed in schools all across the island on Friday under the theme 'Celebrating Jamaica: Feasting on our Heritage'.

Sandy Bank Primary School celebrated with the Tranquility Bay recruits parading, the raising of the flag, several memebers of the community participating in Anancy and Duppie story telling and so much more.

You can view photos of the day here or by the link in the Photo Gallery. Thanks to Nickell Hill for providing the photos.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend as I had to go to Kingston. However, on my ride into "Town" it was great seeing so many schoolers proudly dressed in their country's colors.

I would love if someone who attended the celebration at the Sandy Bank School could give us a proper report.

Lovely pictures Rebecca.I used to enjoy those Anancy and duppy stories. My grandmother used to make them so real.I look back on those days now and believe that the duppy stories were designed to ensure children stayed on the straight and narrow.
