I'll finally be in Treasure Beach!! So long since my last visit. Even with the wonderful luck of winning the TB Foundation raffle last spring, I still needed almost a year to save up for the parts of the trip that aren't included in the prize. Turns out, this is a perfect time to leave my city. We've been so snowed under, it's an extra-special treat to get out and spend ten days away from so much cold!

Can't wait to get that first glimpse of TB as we drive down from MoBay. That moment always feels like coming home for me. I'll be traveling with two women who've never been to JA. Both are really excited, and I'm excited to see TB through them, like seeing it for the first time.

Can't wait to see my friends, to feel the sun on my winter-grey skin, to taste that first cup of coffee, to taste that first brown stew fish, to take my bike out before breakfast and ride in the gorgeous early-morning silence.

Can't wait for the feeling of actually being a whole person that I have in Jamaica. I can breathe, I can think, I can be so much more myself than I can here in New York. Can't wait for that most of all.
