By TBWG on Sunday, February 13, 2011 - 09:03 am: Edit PostThe Treasure Beach Women's Group (TBWG) is the recipient of a grant from the Jamaica Social investment fund for our Treasure Hunt Craft Shop. Some of the funding has been allocated for art workshops.
We held our first in a series of art workshops yesterday with a better than expected turn out!
These workshops are designed to bring in anyone in the community who is intersted in learning more about a particular art or craft, then taking that expertise and creating items to sell in the TBWG craft shop. The ultimate goal is to provide self-employment to members of the community giving them a venue to express their talent and sell their wares. What a great concept and program!
So when you come to Treasure Beach - make sure to purchase your souvenirs at the Treasure Beach Women's Group Craft Shop!
