Thanks to a part-time resident of Treasure Beach, Roger, who owns a landscaping business in Massachusetts, the Sandy Bank Primary School is receiving and total and thorough - and much needed - facelift.

Roger and friends started with clearing out the courtyard yesterday. The plan is to bring in fresh top soil, replant the courtyard, add a gazebo and pathways and create a peaceful place where students and teachers can retreat to when needed.

Thanks Roger and friends! We look forward to seeing the progress and the end result.

We will be completing phase 2 (of 3) this Saturday, Feb. 19, at 9am. Public is welcome. We could use a few more bodies, as well as two more wheelbarrows, and a couple more rounded, pointed shovels.

By the way, in addition to I love the spotlight Eggy, there were 4 local men, one local woman and two tourists who volunteered. Additionally, LT helped out with his chainsaw which was a huge time saver.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Mr Sturgis,

I thought that was you performing such a good deed. I am still thanking you for the blessing you bestowed upon me, when my father passed.

Again Thank you for all you do for the community.

This is for P Strachan-Palmer: I was just wondering if your P stands for Patricia? My Grand mother was a Strachan also and I am a friend of Tommy. Knew his other brothers also.

I knew there were only a few Strachan from Treasure Beach. John Strachan was that good old soul that would ride his donkey every day to go do his cultivation in a place they call New Savanah.

It is good to know who our famalies are.
