You mention that it was the Scots who settled Treasure Beach when their ship sank offshore.
I have always understood that it was the Germans who settled Treasure Beach.
Or did both the Scots and Germans settle there at different times?
As far as I know,The Germans settled in Seaford Town (German Town)Westmoreland.I have no idea how they got there. My Great Grand Father William Moxam came on a ship as an explorer, from Sussex England. What he found was the most beauiful black woman he had ever seen.He married her and was disinherited by his parents in England, because he had refused to leave Treasure Beach and return to England. He was not Shipwrecked in Treasure Beach,He was love struct. Happy Valentine Day to all lovers in and of Treasure Beach.
Hi Vawhn, do you or anyone know if there has ever been a book or official recording of the history of German Town? I'm naturally sceptical of often repeated stories that tend to stray from reality over time. Would love to know the truth. How about you turey or Zed?

I passed through the area recently Provocateur, my friend was discombobulated to see a strapping white yout with a 'las and load. When we were hailed back in braaad patois, he figured we were in the Twighlight Zone. A common experience on the Rock.
