It will be curious to see who "buys" it, and if the name remains as such.
And wonder if the taxpayers money will be recovered on this sale.

Jamaica seems to be a giant monopoly board game. It's really sad to see everything up for sale to private entities. Where will it end?

The good things get sold off. We get to keep things like the canal and the potholes.

It will end up in the hands of those who should be leaders of this wonderful country, but in reality are not, as use the board games solely for their own advantage.

Despite the political upheaval the past 30 years, in reality nothing has changed.

"21 families rule" is probably downsized to a few less families now, but dem still a rule.

Very true privitzation. Great men like Garvey, Bustamante, and Manley sought to make the lives of ordinary Jamaicans better. I am sure none of these HEROES established material wealth for themselves. Jamaica now cries out for leadership and instead we get wanna-be's and pretenders who sell out at the drop of a hat.
We long for the day when a man, or woman, will rise up from among the people and, not just with fiery speeches, but with concrete action, lead our people to the prominence we once had. Forget about party affiliation, labels, and licky licky business, only action will do. Perhaps one is reading this right now and will feel moved!

"...and not just with fiery speeches". Yes observing, when I hear stir dem up talk, I recognise the power of trance induction and emotional coercion. Truth and Real do not need such dressing.

Later could be greater.

Concrete turey, real to the touch, and hard if you bounce up against it. No trance and no coercion; just the proverbial truth to power.
Every once in a while inspiration comes along and the people gravitate. History recall. Ask those in Tahrir Square in Egypt. It's the "movement of Jah people" and it is unexpected, swift, and powerful.

I hope the genuine Jah manifests Observing. We humans tend to custom make He/She/It custom for our convenience/culture. There are many willing to oblige.

An ancient trade, the people want full bellies and a quite and peaceful community, most of us will swallow any Jah, El, Baal or ...

As long as bread is available. I said most of us.

Let's make sure we plant our own bread and encourage our prophets.

turey, you do know that JAH and baal are opposite end of the spectrum. Ok, we're off topic here my friend so I'll stop here. Just remember that everything starts with a seed, even the above mentioned bread.
Like the originator of this thread, I too wonder who will "buy" (yes in quotes) this landing. Time will tell.

We ab-original St Mary-ites grew up with with the name Boscobel (French "Bosque Belle", meaning "beautiful grove or woods", or Castilian vulgarism for "beautiful wood") and some of us kindly request that this familiar & endearing name be restored!

I love the name Boscobel.
Has a lure to it that "ian Fleming" does NOT

Especially if my St Mary cousins invite the Beautiful Woods back. That's the magic, not the fancy concrete barracks that line the beaches.

What's In A Name...Social This...Ethnic That...Hero to Me...Political Who...Sinner to You?...but Boscobel International Gateway has music and magic and mystery in its origins...just like Oracabessa our favourite old banana port, nearby in St Mary..!

Day O, day O
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day O...

Work all night on a drink of rum
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Stack banana till the mornin' come
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Come, Mister Tally Man, tally me banana
Daylight come and me wan' go home...

Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch
Daylight come and me wan' go home...

A beautiful bunch o' ripe banana
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Hide the deadly black tarantula
Daylight come and me wan' go home

Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day O
Daylight come and me wan' go home
