Sorry, but my wife and I found the celebration at Jack Sprat to be a major waste of money! Extremely loud DJ, whom you could not understand, playing the same Michael Jackson CD over and over, and a bit of a disorganized celebration. The head-line band started at 1:15am. During this whole time, the same DJ was walking back and forth across the stage yelling in his microphone. Who knows what he was saying. We should have stayed at Jakes.

My wife and I have been to New Year celebrations in various places around the planet including Jack Sprat over the years. They all have their own nuances. Our experience is you generally just go with the flow. All my friends that attend Jack Sprat enjoy themselves and frankly that is enough for us. Jerry

We watched singers on TV on New Years Eve. I hate to admit it but my wife and I didn't recognize 90% of the groups and disliked most of them. We were really glad the host had a mute button. I'm thinking it's a "age thing" because we're in our late 40's.

We've been to 3 New Years at Jack Spratt and haven't ever enjoyed it. Too loud and too late but everyone else seems to enjoy it!! Mind you there isn't really anything else to do so I guess you go with the flow. Happy New Year everyone. Hope you had a good time whatever you did.

Why would a place like Marblue not have a nice New Years celebration for those people who don't want to be part of the Jack Sprat crowd. I understand it would cost a lot more but I believe it would have appeal to a lot of people. I would think several other places could have things planned for New Year's Eve too. There are a lot of people in Treasure Beach and they have differing tastes.

the nice thing is,you can do both-our Marblue celebration starts now since 5 years at 7 pm-with a nice 8 course menu, after that, our guest join the party-in house or jack,s sprat-or quiet ,watching the fireworks-or dancing-or sitting on the beach...thanks to our guests-it was a great success
hope to see -more celebrations this year-

We were there for the millenium in 1999-2000. Fantastic party on the beach. Wonderful food and drink to buy. Great live entertainment for all different tastes and no screaming DJs. Maybe more than 1,000 happy people with no pushing or cursing, only happiness. I know the kind of entertainment that had wasn't free and cost the sponsors from their own pockets but such a celebration could be done again for the community with some good advance planning and sponsorships.

I too remember 2000 with Toots and the Maytals. that was awesome music you could shake your leg to. Or,why not have it where there is a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy.
