The absolutely beautiful cookbook (a "roots culinary tour" around the island) written by Rosemary Parkinson and photographed by Cookie Kinkead has received a Gold at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards in Paris. Nyam Jamaica had already received Best Design, Best Photography and Best Easy Recipes for Jamaica in 2008.
A limited supply of these exquisite books is now available in the U.S. First come, first served—and definitely no later than November 10. The price of the book is $130 (+$14 shipping). This is admittedly expensive, but Nyam Jamaica is a 425-page, hard-cover, full color book weighing six pounds. The recipes are marvelous, and you would gain hours of enjoyment merely by looking at the photographs.
