I read somewhere that the following plants are a natural repellent to mosquitoes:Catnip, Mosquito plant,Marigold, Rosemary ,Horse mint and Ageratum.Mosquitos are said to hate the smell and steer clear of them. Has anyone put this to the test? Curious to know as they do seem to be particularly fond of me.

Lemon Thyme and citronella grass are good natural repellants.

Thank you jeannieb. I use the citronella in candle form in Florida but had no idea it comes from grass. I actually hate the smell and the soot and will definitely try to find the grass here.

Citronella also comes in an oil. Haven't seen it around in years, but we used to use it when camping. Used to get it from the Pharmacy.
