It is a sad time but it is also a time to remember to enjoy every moment of every day with every person you encounter because time is certainly limited.

It is particularly striking because Treasure Beach is a small community and so many of the people are related. It is the same village quality which makes it such a special community, though.

I was somewhat surprised at this post. Mainly because I have seen alot worse news than I have seen lately, at least on this site. The 'Good News' posts lately include, but not limited to: Turtle education and awareness, Shane Twins, summer camp, Turey being there out and about, former Sandy Bank students, Pack for a purpose, scholarships, donated computers, etc, etc...Even the cemetery post is positive in the sense it is forward thinking. Your glass is really half full. Just look around you. Good news is everywhere.

We all know there is a lot of sadness going on in and around Treasure Beach but, we certainly have no control over "these sad circumstances" so, for all the families and friends my thoughts and prayers are there with you.
I have experienced those same losses in short intervals and believe me when I say the grieving process is certainly different for each and everyone one of us but,if you put all your trust and faith in God he will surely take you through these difficult times.
Treasure Beach is a community of caring, loving good people and I hope it will remain that way for ever.

God Bless,
Murnel

Things are thin all around. Not as many visitors as we are accustomed to.

Things are speeding up, land is being cleared, kids are under the unfluence of whatever is in the air. Kids always are, it's in our DNA.

New faces appear, beloved ones go.

In a unique peice of a blessed land, isolated and with old traditions still kept up.

They patched the Great Bay road, hope the race track does not extend there, good it's a dead (very live really) end road.

The question is: can one of the trucks do the bend by Junior's fruit place at over 70 mph. Many seem to be practising for the record.

Ahhh, air horns to break the monotony of the lapping waves and gull's shriek.

6:00 am. Pop pop pop ...."Wake up Mama, the ragheads are on us, where is my AK?" "No sah a di bird man dem".

Change....Guaranteed. Let's see if we can sweeten the direction it heads in.

When I remember that the Milky Way is the edge of the Galaxy we are in and my size is relatively microscopic, it put's my ego and it's attached concerns in better context. On clear nights this reminder is in the sky.

Thanks, Marcia, Sandy, Quest, Shane Bros, Guilty, Shirley, Vikes, Frankie, Jason, Sally, Trevor, Dougie, John, I-John, Linda, Punga, Bobby, Miss Janet, Miss Judith and all.

Later can be greater.

I second what my Aunt Murnel has to say and in reading so far, these are very positive responses. Half full not half empty and just out of curiosity what is this sadness stemming from (loved ones passing on, can't stay forever) would be nice though. Have I missed something? Smile at someone you don't know and I bet you get a smile right back (makes me feel good and costs nothing) win win. Love you TB

Are people talking about deaths in the area as the bad news?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By TBNet on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 - 11:30 am: Edit Post

The sad news includes many deaths in the community.

It is definitely sad when people die. We must not forget one reason we see so many deaths being announced here is this is a place where the community can make announcements for people near and far. People can come together to mourn losses and also to celebrate the lives of loved ones and people they have known. If we also put up birth announcements it would more than balance the number of deaths.
