A very long time ago I made a promise to a teacher that I'd like to fulfill. She was my Grade Two teacher at Sandy Bank back around 1967. The problem is that I cannot remember her name. It was not Miss PT, nor Miss July, and I don't believe she taught there for more than one year (two max). She was young, tall, slim, and brown complexion.

I'd be grateful if anyone remembers her or knows how to contact her.

Thank you O M D, but it wasn't Lesterine. This other teacher would have been a few years older, and she was not directly from TB. I believe she may have been from one of the districts not too far however. It's killing me because I didn't have that many teachers at SB; Miss PT, then this lady, then Miss July, Miss Madge, and the man himself, Z.C.

Could it have been Miss Jones from near Beacon?

Thank you Past student, but I don't think so. Please let me know if I'm correct, but I vaguely recall the name "Ditty" (can't place the face), as someone originally from TB (this teacher was not).

I remember being in the same Class with Vernon, Mark, Everton, Susan (spelling?), Sharon, Grace, Ferdie, Mary, etc.(last names witheld out of respect for privacy). It feels so good just to remember those names. We didn't have so many teachers in that span of time, so I think it's possible for someone from those good ole days to find the missing link.

You could be on to something there SBPS. I don't remember her name, but remember she was from somewhere nearby. Somewhere in the back of my mind I keep thinking of Newcombe Valley, or somewhere near Newell. Do you remember what Miss Jones looked like, or know how to contact her?

Miss Jones was super cute and I wouldn't say tall. She was from Little Park and a little before the time period mentioned.

I remember this teacher as being very attractive Old boy and, of course, she seemed tall to the shorty that I was at that age (she was slim). You've thrown cold water on my excitement however by questioning the time period. When was Miss Jones at SB?

can't remember where or how I knew her, I used to have to take shoes to Maas Alfred Jones(her father) to have them repaired. Might be her, because come to think of it I don't remember her at SB in 1965 so it must have been after. Keep hope alive.

Tbnet if you dont post this I do understand because you cannot verify but sad to say Miss Joy Jones (later married) died a few years ago. I actually have a clipping from the death announcement in the Gleaner but I could not put my hand on it today. I am sorry if this is really the teacher that past student is looking for.

I'm very sorry to hear abot Miss Jones' passing, although I'm not sure if she's the teacher I was thinking of. Perhaps I may never find out.

Thanks to everyone for helping a middle aged man revisit his childhood. Those days were most wonderous, and it does the soul good to resurrect them every now and then.

Sad to say if it is Ms Joy Jones you are looking for she has passed on. I know she has two sisters – Enid and Madge living in Watchwell.

The first name Joy does ring with some familiarity, so I'm beginning to think with a little more certainty that it was her. Just goes to show that we shouldn't put off for tomorrow what we can do today. Many thanks.
