It was said on Your Issues Live which is a program that is aired on TV every Tuesday evening by the MP Mr. Tufton, our Mayor Mr. Palmer and businessman Jason Henzel(of Jakes) that for the Labour Day project for Treasure Beach they would be making speed traps also known as (Sleeping Policeman) in front of the Sandy Bank Primary School and more along the road to Frenchman to cut down the speeding on that road way .I was looking out on Labour Day for this important project but nothing was happening. They all promise this on public TV and yet nothing happen, this project was to protect our children, elderly, the tourist and the wider community what will it take for this happen I ask.. A tragedy I guess. [edited by TB.Net]. As Micheal Sharp the host of the show had said that we the residents should look out to see if this would have really happen, Mr. Sharp just to let you know it never did.

The Sports Park is supposed to provide jobs and income for the community,so why are the washrooms being built by volunteers? Where`s the money, honey?

If this is a park designated to enhance the community then isn't is reasonable to ask the community for assistance?

It's reasonable for Breds to do what they promise.

There seems to be a disconnect with the sports park. They have raised some good amount of money for the construction, yet they are now asking for free labour. There is also an assumption it is for the enhancement of the community, but that does not seem an appropriate line of discussion as it has been dealt with on these pages until there is little if anything to be said either for or against the park.

IMHO Breds has a history of listing its accomplishments and then abandoning them. I cite the computer lab at Sandy Bank, the antenna warning system for fishermen at sea and the obtaining of a new ambulance. There is always a reason, an excuse. I for one will no longer support them.

Since Breds saved [edited by TB.Net] volunteers for the Sports Park project, perhaps they can now employ some locals to build the above promised "sleeping policemen".
If built correctly with a long, gradual slope, they do not interfere with a vehicle going the posted speed limit. They only cause a vehicle to "bottom out" if if is going at excess speed,so this should not be a problem for all the respectful drivers of TB.

Safety on the roads would definately be an enhancement for the community.

Heard the government was bushing the roads through TB. Right before Calabash and right before elections. [edited by TB.Net] Put that on Sharp's show.

Am convinced Breds would not get all the flack it does if they merely did what they promised. Am not sure why that is too much to ask. Am wondering why they set themselves up for public controversy by promising big and doing litle.

Breds did not promise speed bumps - the Mayor did! The speed bumps will be put in but at a later date after sensitizing the community about their placements.

Please stop blaming Breds for everything.

My suggestion is to call Breds or one of their directors (since they don't answer here) and ask the questions.

Maybe if others were as involved in helping out the community they would also be held up to criticism.

If you stay uninvolved then no one can criticize you. Thank goodness they are involved and don't run from the criticism.
