PERRY HENZELL'S : Power Game

Perry will forever be a literary & "family of man" conscience running through the Calabash Fest.

Perry observes:
"Anybody who’d ever watched powerful men close-up knew that their power would increase the more they humbled themselves, that hubris was fatal. History was full of nothing much else but the warning that those who forgot always perished, and drama since time immemorial was full of stories of their forgetting.

Henzell believes in the power of intelligence (Winston Bernard) when it is coupled with the power of love (Michelle) and backed by the religious spirit of the Rastafari (IZion). Being a careful thinker and a realist, Henzell also allows a place for discipline (Mark Bernard). He ruminates on the changes that technology has brought to group situations and on the power of the media to transform events. Part of the joy of reading this book is the wonderful passages that put forward Henzell’s thoughts on these and other matters."
