I am daydreaming of Olivers Dutch Pot, Ms. Winnie and her sweet crew at Tiano Cove, the view from the Pelican Bar, Dawns one of a kind coffee, the crew at Treasure Tours, Beer and sunset with Eggy, the music all around, that PORCH at Fairhill Villa, Junior's fruits, all the townspeople, fun at the bars and street parties and the food, ooooh that food! I will see you soon SWEET JAMAICA! I know others are feeling this too, tell me how to get through.....

I get through it by just getting on with life. Finding things that make me grateful for where I am. There is beauty and good people everywhere, unless you live in a tin can. Sometimes I think that people who get obsessed about something like this are seeking an escape from problems in their life, and are seeking their identity.

No problem in living for today AND looking forward to tomorrow.

I think all of us get on with life Bob, we have to. I am not obsessive and I dont think Lisa is either but I know she will agree that yes we are escaping from our problems for a couple of weeks (dont most people when they go on holiday!) My identity, yes that would be in Jamaica but unfortunately I do not have the monies - maybe when I retire. Just had a change of mind - I am besotted, as I go every 5 months and will be there in 2 weeks time and I cannot wait to see my lovely friends, who I know are so looking forward to seeing me. Everyone has a special place and ours is in Treasure Beach, hence why most of us log into this site.

Hey Lisa any idea when you will be in TB? One day we will all meet up!

I was at Taino Cove for three nights in Nov. and have been back to Jamaica 3 times since without a visit to TB and it was really hard knowing I was that close without a visit. What made it worse was the phone calls to Henry in TB. Making me miss maybe my favourite place I have ever been.

Really Bob! I live about a 6 minute walk from the beach in Southern California. I am not in any way lost or searching for my identity. SERIOUSLY, I am being dramatic, but many of us feel dramatically in love with Treasure Beach and its inhabitants! I am Happy, Secure, Passionate and Lovin my Life!!!! BUT - - I do LOVE my time in TB and if you don't FEEL it like many of us do than maybe you aren't searching for time off in the right places! ONE LOVE my friend! Treasure Beach is my FAVORITE OBSESSION!!!! <3 <3

Mikey Mike - love ya babe, thanks!
Jean - I think I may be going end of May or June (crossing my fingers) We DEFINATLEY need to meet up - - -lots of trips ahead.

If you only knew Littlemamalisa. I doubt there are many people more passionate about TB than I. I am there 3 to 4 times a year, and rarely visit other places. I'll be there in 12 days. I'll be in Ja for 6 weeks.
I am sorry you live by the beach in So Cal.
I already knew that by following your ups and downs that you have posted here over the years. You are right though. I am not searching in the right places, because I am not searching.
Some friends ask me, "why do you only go to Treasure Beach Jamaica several times a year, year after year? Don't you want to go and see some other places?? My response is always, with a startled look on my face "There are other places? Really?"
I am also sorry that some got so defensive about my comment. Did you ever think that I was talking about myself many years ago and not any contributor to this thread?

My husband and I were talking about the first time we came to TB - it was early 90s and we visited friends staying at the then named villa, Coyaba, in Billy's Bay. We started walking early one morning towards Fort Charles...it was a dirt road then - and all of a sudden, millions of yellow butterflies took flight and we were surrounded in beauty. It was wild.
We have been visitors to Jamaica for nearly 40 years - and of those 40 have lived on the island some 7 years. I sometimes wonder if an old acquaintance in Negril put a spell on us... while we have traveled all over the world it is TB that we continually return.
We are not searching for anything...but when you find a place that gives you love, friends, and a gentle way of life...hard to keep going someplace else... know what I mean?

Amen dan and suzanne! Exactly what i mean. In the meantime, I personally get through my cravings by finding the things you just mentioned wherever I happen to be.

Well put everyone! I am a relatively new repeat visitor to TB but love it so. I DO find beauty in my everyday life and the people around me Bob! One question, WHY are you SORRY i live near the beach in SoCal? It is a beautiful location and I am so thankful to be here at this moment in time. The people I live around are wonderful, friendly and fun. The nearby beaches are super clean and well taken care of, don't be sorry for me sir.

Dan and Suzanne - I have thought of you often and look forward to hookin up for a drink in TB sometime soon! Thanks for your kind words and wonderful story!

Hi Littlemamalisa. Below are some things you mentioned...
"I DO find beauty in my everyday life and the people around me... It is a beautiful location and I am so thankful to be here at this moment in time. The people I live around are wonderful, friendly and fun. The nearby beaches are super clean and well taken care of".
Maybe you answered your own question as to "how do you get through"... Just a thought.

Dear Littlemamalisa. My wife, Karin, also a visitor to TB, though not as often as me, is in Huntington Beach right now with two of our seven grandsons. It's a great place, with great beaches. We think Huntington Beach is just fine. Still, I can only share your affection for Treasure Beach and am struck as always by the "small world" aspect of life.

WOW! I don't know how a simple expression of affection turned into what it has! My initial "Statement" was meant with humor and I hoped to receive some positive responses......thanks to those who understood.

Positive Vibes, right??? wow
Thank you to those who "got it"

I get it Little Mama Lisa. It's only been 2 months since we were there and I am missing my friends in Great Bay. The weather here in Ohio is getting warm, 80 today but I just keep comparing it to what it feels like when I am in Jamaica. When the sun hits just right and warms me I close my eyes, I think, "this is what Jamaica feels like."
I'm happy where I am but I'd be alot happier if I were here.

Mikey Mike -
What you have to say about Istanbul and the southern coast of Turkey caught my eye. While I share a love of TB along with all posters on this board, Istanbul is one place I would like to get to, if possible, sometime. Can you say more, please? Perhaps this isn't the right forum, but if you don't mind, please direct me to any websites that indicate why you love Turkey/Istanbul so much. Alternately,ANY info you care to share.

Many thanks.
