Treasure Beach Jazz Escape, Saturday, June 19, is hosted by Two Seasons Guest House in collaboration with the Treasure Beach Women's Group and the Open Heart Charitable Mission, Montego Bay.

Treasure Beach Jazz Escape is the South Coast leg of the International Jamaica Ocho Rios Jazz Festival. 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the Festival. Sadly, it will be celebrated without its founder, Sonny Bradshaw, who passed away in October last year. However, his passing has made the organizers determined to make the festival the best one yet in his honour. Part proceeds will go towards the Treasure Beach Women's Group and the Open Heart Charitable Mission.

The musical artistry of Desi Jones and Friends, Dr. Kathy Brown and Friends, Karen Smith, guest artiste, internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist, Boo Hinkson, and Treasure Beach’s own, Shane drummers, will be woven together with the comical and sharp witted rap of master of
ceremonies, Dr. Michael Abrahams.

Treasure Beach Jazz Escape is supported by Treasure Beach Hotel, Sunset Resort and Villas, Jakes, Calabash House, Inn at Great Bay, Marblue Suites, Treasurebeach.net, Treasure Tours, C.A. Parchment and Son, and Tru Juice.

Buses are being organised from Kingston (overnight), Montego Bay and Mandeville (same night return). If you wish further information or to come on board as a sponsor, please do
contact me by email, jazztreasures@2seasonsguesthouse.com, or by telephone 571-0818.

Two Seasons Guest House, Treasure Beach, donates to charity:

Christine Marrett, proprietor, Two Seasons Guest House, recently presented a cheque to Treasure Beach Women’s Group (TBWG). The funds were part proceeds of Treasure Beach Jazz Escape, the South coast leg of the International Jamaica Ocho Rios Jazz Festival held in June. Jason Henzel of Jake’s described Treasure Beach Jazz Escape, held on the grounds of Two Seasons Guest House, as “well produced and of top quality, adding to the entertainment offerings on the South coast”.

The show featured Jamaica’s top jazz artistes: Desi Jones on drums and his friends - Christopher McDonald, keyboard; Dale Brown, bass; Rupert Bent, guitar; Dean Barnett, pan; and Michael Harris, vocals; and Kathy Brown (keyboard) and Ouida Lewis (percussion), and Jamaica’s song bird, Karen Smith. Tap dancer and saxophonist, Idris Ackamoor, lent an international flavour. Treasure Beach’s own Shane Drummers called proceedings to order at the start of each of the two segments. Comedian Michael Abrahams was the MC for the night. The selector was Albert Chevers of Soul Chev disco. Catering was provided by Frenchman's Reef Restaurant and Bar and pastries by TBWG. Artwork by La Galerie de Sebastian was on exhibition and for sale.

Treasure Beach Jazz Escape was presented by Two Seasons Guest House in association with the two charities, Treasure Beach Women’s Group Benevolent Society, and the Open Heart Charitable Mission, Montego Bay.
Support for the event was provided by properties and companies in the area – Jakes, Treasure Beach Hotel, Sunset Resort and Villas, Button Bay Beach Getaway, Mar Blue Suites, Inn at Great Bay, Calabash House, C. A. Parchment and Son, Treasure Tours, Treasurebeach.net and by Appleton Estate and Tru-Juice.

There are plans to make it an annual event, so mark your calendar for June 18, 2011, for Treasure Beach Jazz Escape at Two Seasons Guest House!

Hi Rebecca
Couldn't have done it without the support of all the Treasure Beach partners. Looking forward to doing it again June 2011.
