We rented bicycles through a recommended person/firm in Treasure Beach and we were highly disappointed. Can anyone suggest a rental place that has GOOD bicycles? We are coming back, want to rent bikes but don't want the poor quality we had.

Take a peek at Jakes.

There are some new rugged Treks that are lightly used. The man is fair with his pricing and will barter. Walk into Jakes and the bikes will be near the gift shop chained up.

You may consider bringing some reflective type of clothing or footwear just incase you get caught when its dark. You can not be too carefull on the roads walking,riding,or driving at night time.

I've rented from Andy at Jakes and from Viking and Stephanie and had a good experience with both. Andy is more expensive, but he offers more AAA-style service for the fee, which is a comfort with makka (spelling?) bushes and rough roads.
