Check it out! Any interest in organizing a charity-benefited 10k or Half Marathon? It could attract runners and their families, and feature local swifties like RP. A modest entry fee will be required, half of which can be contributed to the charity and half to the race organization. The Press and local pols can support. Race sponsors could include beverage producers or distributors, banks, foodies, transportation and tour companies, villas and lodges and others who would have their logos posted on a race tee for a nominal or handsome contribution to the race's organization. This would require a local enthusiast to drive the process. Bad idea? Good idea?

We already have the Traithlon. Were you thinking in addition to this?

Interesting how BREDS doesn't seem to be using that name any more.

BREDS is officially THE Treasure Beach Foundation as opposed to Treasure Beach Foundation. The latter group are the people who award the scholarships and help out at the schools. I would want to know for what USE my money would go no matter to which group I contributed. With Treasure Beach Foundation I KNOW it's for scholarships and things for the schools. With BREDS I do not know. BTW I enjoy the Triathlon though last year it seemed less organized than it had been before.

I would come run it! I think there is validity to having just a foot race in addition to the triathlon. The (Reggae) marathon in Negril is constantly gaining popularity and praise in the international running community. Since I visited TB, I have regularly thought that I wish the Reggae marathon was in TB instead of Negril. Go for it!
