On February 23 2010 the Gleaner featured the Top Students in Jamaica, one of whom is Ruth-Ann Grant of St. Andrew High School for girls. Miss Olive from Billis Bay grandaughter and Jennifer's daughter.
Is Ruth-Ann Miss Olive's grandaughter?
Yes she is Miss Olive Granddaughter, they must be so proud of her and also her sister Trudy
who is in medical school in the us, what two brillant girls Ruth Ann is following in her big sister foot step,
They are my two nieces and we are very proud of there achievements.
I knew it, I knew it, i could see it from they were little girls, enquiring minds, smart and intellegent. Great Work Girls.
I was wondering which Jennifer is Ruth-Anns' Mother, I just found out its Jennifer Brown, married Grant. Your girls are doing great Jennifer, congratulations to you and your family.
congratulations my darling cousen Ruth_Ann, I am so proud of you and your sister, for setting your gold's and working hard at it. you not only made it in the gleaner but couple months ago you made it in the observer also, you and your sister are two
brillant girls, as Lorna said I knew it, I knew it, Jennifer ( Shawn )and Martin must be so proud.
I would like to read this articles online. could someone put the links to these articles in the gleaner and observer on here?
Miss Olive, Jennifer ( Shawn ) and Margaret you must be so proud of your granddaughters, daughters and nieces. Congratulation to you all.
Ruth,-Ann and Trudy-ann, You girls are outstanding, gifted and conscientious. All the best for the future. Love Always.
I hope the performance of Ruth-Ann and Trudy-Ann motivate and encourage other kids to realize that with hard work and determination they can be at the top too.
Hi Jennifer, your girls are doing great, and you are a great mom. I must commend your girls on their great performance.
Jennifer, Martin, Tatta , Margaret and the girls, Congratulations! With a strong and loving family, God's guidance and blessings, hard work and determination then all things are possible. Keep up the good work.
I must congratulate these two young ladies and their parents, its obvious these parents took great interest in their children's lives. Sometimes children are trying but the parental guidance is lacking.
Great work Trudy and Ruti, you always made Aunti proud. I am proud of Mommy and Daddy too, they did their best to support and guide you. I am proud for your Academic Achievements, but what I admire most about you is how much you care for others and how much you help others. Sometimes when I call you are off to the hospital to do some volunteer work, and sometimes you are helping other Students with their school work. This is really an accomplishment. Continue The Good Work.
To the Students who are trying do your best, and to those who have done their best congratulations.
Jennifer (Shawn) I could see the success coming, you are really a dedicated mother. Nothing is impossible when it comes to your girls.
Miss Olive its not only your christmas lights are shining, your grand daughters are shining too, they are really bright STARS.
Lorna mentioned that these girls are smart, intelligent and have enquiring minds since they were little girls. I believe some kids are born that way and they work at it, they do not sit on it. there are other kids who might not be academically inclined, but they are ambitious anyway, they want to be a carpenter, fisherman, driver etc.,as parents we should support and guide our children once they are ambitious. Not every child is going to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer or pilot. Parents do not pressure your child, the child might not want what you want, dont try to live your dream through your child.
I think Miss Olive from Billys Bay is Raymond Smith sister, that means these two young girls are Raymond's grand-nieces. I can only imagine if Raymond was around now, this would be the talk of the town. Raymond was lost at sea, he really loved his family.
Congratulations!! Trudy and Ruti, you are affable and sociable young ladies, very focused and goal oriented. Love Always.
Southfield you are so right!! Raymond loved his family. I was 12 yrs old when he left us but I can truly say I remember this clearly, along with all the other good qualities he had.
congratulations! Trudy and Ruti, you girls have steadily matured in your work and in your personal development. your growth can be attributed to your willingness to work and to readily accept new challenges.
