Dear Gladys
Rodney & Gillian Burr stayed at Button Bay from 18th January 2010 for 8 nights (we extended by 1 night because we enjoyed it so much). Sorry we didn't get the opportunity to meet you during our stay, but thought we'd give you some feedback on our experience - we'll also post something on Trip Advisor.
Our whole stay was wonderful and we wished we could stay longer We felt a warm and friendly environment, aided by your excellent staff who were helpful, attentive and charming throughout.
The Holland Room was excellent and we loved sitting on the verandah gazing over the Caribbean Sea with a bottle of Red Stripe to hand....
Breakfast in your dining area couldn't have been a better start to each day and we also enjoyed the experience each time we decided to have our evening meal 'at home'.
The pool area was particularly enjoyable around sunset and we had some great days at the beach about a mile west (forgotten the name).
So, thanks for a lovely holiday. We'll be back!!
If you're looking for somewhere more in the middle of things Frenchmans or Calabash Bay are better areas to look at.
Not saying there is anything wrong with Button Bay because I have never been there, but we wrote something in a guest book from a different place. I don't recall my words but we loved where we stayed and said so. My question has to do with is it fair for one place to write a compliment they got while the other places sit back in silence?
Alterative: If you had read the letter above, you would have seen that the people had already stayed at Button Bay. They do not need to know about Frenchman's or Calabash Bay. Besides, we at Button Bay are onlyapproximately 4 miles from Calabash Bay and 2 miles from Frenchman's. As well as that, we offer our guests a drive to any of the above free of cost. We are not in "no man's land" Fort Charles and Billy's Bay is part of Treasure Beach.
Different Guest Book: If you wrote a coment in another guest book, it would have no bearing on what the person wrote in Button Bay's Guest Book. I am glad you enjoyed where you stayed. Other places often write about their compliments they have received about their properties. Therefore, no one is "sitting back in slience".
I am a bit tired of people trying to put down properties, especially Button Bay. The other thing I would like to see is, for people to stop using an alias on their comments. Why not be brave enough to let us know who is putting people down and face the music.
I really hope this gets published as a lot of times my notes do not.
A comment not meant to be mean spirited but meant to be honest. Every time someone posts a question here like where to eat, stay or have a wedding there are about three places that always seem to come on and say WE CAN DO IT or CHECK US OUT. I think it's one thing to have a guest make a recommendation then to have a place always come out and say they are the best for this and the best for that. If these places want to take out ads thats what they should do.
hm...
Different Guest Book:
Button Bay pays to advertise on this site, so why not take advantage of the forum as well? Seems fair to me
You are free to big up the place you stayed at, so please share with us your wonderful experience and which guesthouse provided it.
Many of us are always looking for an exceptional place to stay.
Anyone with a business/place/organization is free to post accurate and valid information here as long as they identify themselves as being part of the business/group. Truth in advertising, as it were. The corollary to this is after you post something, others are free to post accurate and valid statements as well. If you want to control the message, take out an ad (which Button Bay already has right here...how's that for a free plug? :-)
Button Bay (and all those advertising via postings), in the interest of full transparency in the future please add a line at the top or bottom of your posts saying that you are the proprietors of the property, similar to how you did in today's post in Wedding Locations in TB. (For the record, since the title of this thread alluded to the poster being the owners it was approved. But we would like something more clear cut from now on.)
To close, the fact that some use this Forum more than others to big up their business is a matter of how they want to spend their time advertising.

Thank you TB.Net and one love.
No one could ever say that they are the best at any one thing let alone all.
I want to make it very clear, that whatever I publish on this forum is very transparenet.
Rebecca, yesterdays meeting was awesome. If there is anything I can do to help, do not think twice to call me.
