First, we never win anything. So we were amazed our ticket was selected from all the others who had bought tickets to Treasure Beach Foundation’s annual Villa Raffle. Not that we didn’t want to win—but we thought we didn’t have a chance. Our real intent was to help support all the scholarship students.
But we won!!
And now we’re back in New York after a wonderful week in Treasure Beach at Doubloon Villa.
Once off the plane, we were met and were on our way to Treasure Beach. We were introduced to the delicious local food when our driver pulled over so we could eat at Border Jerk on our way to the villa. We left begging for the recipe for their delicious jerk sauce!
Upon arrival at the Doubloon we knew we were in for a treat. We were greeted by Rebecca who gave us the grand tour and we met Laverne, Hio and Robert. The house itself is an experience in paradise–both the sights and the sounds. The pool, the ocean, the stars in the perfectly clear sky… what more could we ask for? Oh yeah – the Red Stripe! The weather was perfect all week and the ocean temperature was ideal.
Doubloon itself was beautifully maintained. Robert is a wonderful gardener (and he made an amazing bonfire on the beach). Laverne and Hio cooked up delectable meals every day. They were very friendly and accommodating. Treasure Beach is a great place for R&R–all the locals we met were extremely friendly; the day trips were great (especially Floyd’s Pelican Bar and YS Falls); and we’re still talking about the different style massages we enjoyed. Rebecca and Treasure Tours made transportation a breeze and looked after our special needs.
It was a great week and we look forward to a return trip. Thanks so much to Judy Hanley for donating use of her villa to help raise funds for the scholarship students. Thanks to Karen Kennedy and everyone at Treasure Beach Foundation for putting the entire raffle together. Thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the raffle for your generosity and great work for the students of Treasure Beach.
Of course, we will continue with our support for Treasure Beach Foundation and all the wonderful and deserving scholarship students.

Thanks so much for your kind words Eric. It was a delight to have you, your family and friends join our community for the week. We at Doubloon and Treasure Tours look forward to seeing all of you back here again soon where more jerk, Red Stripe and lightning speed Internet awaits!
Well okay, so the first two we can guarantee . . .
Wow! Great Report...Beautiful pics...I felt like I was there...Thanks for sharing
Wonderful photos. Sounds like a dream week.
Especially LOVE the YS Falls photos. How much extra is it to ride the zip line?
Could someone please give me the YS Falls costs. We are arriving in two weeks and want to try the zip line. Thanks.
Check out this link to our YS Waterfall Tour page on the Treasure Tours website. This will give you all the information you are requesting.

<very nice, the best of Treasure Beach, good to see things are amproving more and more to pleace visitors, good job, the pictures look very inviting.
Thanks Treasure Tours. I see the entry cost is $15 but I heard the zip line was extra. How much does it cost each person to ride and what is the minimum recommended age? We have two sons, 7 and 11.
The following information is in the ad for YS Waterfall on the Treasure Tours site:
Admission to YS Waterfalls is $15 US per adult and $7 US per child under 13. Canopy tours available for $30 US per person 8 yrs. old or over. Tubing tours available for $6 US per person. YS Waterfalls is closed on Mondays and public holidays
The canopy tours are the same as the zip line tours.
Thanks Treasure Tours. I did not know canopy tours and the zip like were the same. My mistake. If anyone has done these at YS Falls I would appreciate hearing how they were and for what ages of children they are appropriate.
I visit Jamaica frequently and stay at Doubloon, recently I have not seen the caretaker, is he around?
Robert is still at Doubloon as the gardens will prove. He's got a fabulous green thumb!
Robert is also featured in the TB.Net Art Gallery. Take a look at his artwork.
well good to now but he was now where around while we were there.
