Can anyone direct me to their new site? I believe it was going to be done by August 22 and then BREDS said they were totally revamping it and I think the new site was to be up by the end of 2009. I apologize if I am mistaken on the dates.

I wondered the same thing.

Well, all I can say is we've been working on the upgrade of TB.Net for the last few months and we are still not close to finishing. If their situation is anything like ours (trying to fit in the work around other full time jobs) I understand the delays.

We're still working on it . . . This is when I just love the Jamaican saying, "Soon Come".

You are being very kind Rebecca. It was my understanding BREDS has an outside firm doing their site. In any case we would expect them to respond to interested readers themselves.

Something that bothers me about BREDS-they put up good news here every once in awhile such as the ambulance is working but they rarely bother to respond to queries posed here. Do they think no one reading this is a potential donor? I don't get it.

I don't understand their reluctance to update us on their new website either.

Breds posts when they have good news. They choose not to respond when someone questions them or maybe even says something that is a bit accusatory. I used to make a small donation to them about once a year but I have not done so for the last 2 years. It's not because I think they don't do good things. It's because I don't like secrecy and I don't appreciate them not responding to postings and emails. When that happens I feel insulted.

Well instead of sitting on this forum why dont you stop by the breds store and ask all your questions.....Breds (i assume) is not obligated to answering any questions on this web site...if it really bothers you that much send your queries else were....no offense but i dont blame breds for not posting here....every time they do its like feeding time at the zoo...send your queries to there anual meeting every month and then if they still refuse to answer then slander them all you want....i would.......

Slander is a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report that is said orally instead of in writing. Libel is the same thing in writing. I believe asking someone about their website whether orally or in writing is not malicious. it is not slander and it is not libel. It is merely a question. I do agree BREDS has no obligation to respond to any questions posed to them either on this forum or if someone stopped by their store.

I believe a suit of slander is based on an untruth about a person. Lawyers please put me straight!

I would not encourage anyone to go this route.

Breds seems to answer chosen audiences in selected places under certain conditions, I may be wrong. For the President of a multi-national corporation who is also the founder of Breds to ignore public comment is not good practice, if this President is doing so. Some corporations employ public relations people to create a palatable face for the public or correct an unpalatable.

Are there certain reasonable questions that should not be asked? Why?

Are the animals in this zoo any less worthy of being fed information than those in other zoo's.

"Time is Money" is for those that sell their time for gold, silver or copper while forgetting that money is a slave of time, not visa versa. The love of money is indeed the root of some evils the greatest being that "Money is a Slave of Time".

"Seize the Day" is for those that surf time, steering with attention, creativity and respect, pulling gold, silver and copper from seeds, sunshine, air, water and soil. Is there any other way to produce tangible capital? Besides the current magic which specialises in virtual capital which devours virtually everything in it's quest to become real.

Obligation fromDictionary.com.
c.1300, from O.Fr. obligation (1235), from L. obligationem (nom. obligatio) "an engaging or pledging," lit. "a binding" (but rarely used in this sense), noun of action from obligare (see oblige). The notion is of binding with promises or by law or duty.

One has duties to shareholders. One also has has duties to the public who are recipients of the EXTERNALITIES of any venture.

Ummmmm......
We took the phrase "then slander them all you want....i would......." as sarcasm. Judging by the replies, not everyone shared this view. (Ah, the slippery slope of being responsible for editing messages... ;-)

For the record, TBNet does not advocate or tolerate slander, libel, etc. against anyone or anything.

I think people should lay off Breds. No matter what is written here they will do what they want and they will not do what they don't want to. If people are not pleased with them there are alot of other worthy organizations helping the people of Treasure Beach they can donate to or work with. Let's be honest. Breds said they would have a public meeting every 3 months and announce it and post the minutes here. That hasn't happened. They said they would have a new website by the end of the year and that has not happened. They talked about getting a new ambulance and that has not happened. I get that alot of things might not happen the way they planned. What bothers me is they do not seem to care enough to give us a simple update. Nothing said here is going to get them to change their ways.

Never writen professionally Anon. If I can respond to an issue that needs attention, I count myself response-able.

We all have our style of expression. To me the point is not form, it's the use of language for honest and straightforward communication.

Yea, I'm between two points of inspiration, BC and Ja. I hope we influence those between in need.

Best wishes from the not so frozen north.
