A guest coming to Hikaru next week asks how readily Canadian dollars are accepted, or should she exchange to US dollars for those expenses not to be paid in Ja$. I don't know the answer, but would welcome advice. Thanks.

Canadian Dollars are easily exchanged in Jamaica.

tell your guest to bring Canadian dollars or Canadian travellers cheques that she can easily exchange in black river, or at jakes.
if using travellers cheques be advised that you will have to have your passport to cash them in wherever you go

you may also advise your guest that she can use the banking machines to withdraw cash from her Canadian bank accounts in black river, as well as crossroads (if the machine there is in working order)

fyi the atm at the kingfisher plaza is only useful to people who have money in a jamaican bank account.
