I'm not computer handy, so can't give links, etc., but a lead article in Tuesday (Nov. 24) NY Times' Science Section (D1) talks about efforts to create a viable eco-tourism locale in the Dominican Republic: "A Tourism Vision Faces an Environmental Test." Although there are many differences between the description of the sea front area being worked on (to clean up, protect, develop (in small letters), and my view of TB -- which I think healthier, cleaner etc -- the article raises some very thought provoking and and transferrable ideas for TB's potential and success. If anyone can get it and "link" it here, many readers might find it interesting. There is a "podcast" -- whatever that is -- at nytimes.com/science.
Here it is, Van: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/24/science/24miches.html?_r=1&scp=3&sq=Dominican+ Republic&st=nyt
Thanks Van. Some encouragement for us to walk a similar road.
Yes, thank you Van for the info and Karen for supplying the link, interesting points.
