Looks like despite the economy we just can not get enough of Jamaica!

9% more airline seats + functionally flat tourist revenue = a drop in equilibrium price.

It is good to see even a slight increase in revenue but, all things considered, the effect of oversupply is obvious.

I think there are some flaws in the article. They don't seem to be figuring the difference in the exchange rate between 2008 and 2009 so this gives the appearance that tourism is fine. In addition, most of the promos I get for travel to Jamaica are pushing an "all-inclusive" rate including airfares and mega-cheap rates at AIs. The truth is people in the US are cutting back and vacations are one of the easiest things to erase from a budget. TB has been extremely quiet even though many places have held their rates steady for two or more years despite their increases in costs.

we do have 30.000(thirty thousand)Hotel rooms on the island/night by 365 days=10.950.000 nights/year with 100%occupancy rate.
Estimated arrival for 2009 1.750.000 visitors,=15.58%occupancy rate for all Hotelrooms.
The new all inclusive like to drive with 60% occ.rate
8000 new rooms/nightx365(days)=2.920.000 nights
60%=1.752.000 nights/just calculate on your own-and you will find out that any visitor coming to TB is like gold!!!think about it.
