(I remember when we used walk hand in hand, and you were so beautiful)BERES HOMMOND ,yes people used to dance back when Thatch Hut and Winfred club used to swing ,both places used be crowded on the weekend included sunday night, back in the eighties when money a flow and the music with the good rhythm (riddim) and vocal which propel you to dance ,man that was part of the TREASURE BEACH EXPERIENCE. every weekend was a blast,as a matter-of-fact i still got the riddim in my feet.
And the music lyrics was up lifting and positive.
Not like the rude, vulgar, stuff of today !!
And yes mi also still like to skank to the old school music.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike
Real talk Jammin. I am a youngster, in comparison cuz in the 80s I was still under my parents wings. But I am an old school of sorts in some ways. It bothers me that we don't dance anymore, this daggering thing and dry humping that i see happening in the dancehall and club is crazy.
I recall the days when Winfred place was the hot spot in TB. I recall a few early evenings back in the day when my dad to stop to get a drink with uncles, cousins and even friends at Winfred and I would be with him and i would get to drink pepssi in thoSe old time tall D&G glass bottles and the days when my dad would take me to the beach and we would just hang a little.
We were just talking about this over the summer when I visited TB and went to have dinner at a new spot which I heard also belongs to Winfred as well. He did a great job with the new development.
I remember when the thatch hut used to lick back in the 80's. What ever became of the thatch hut anyways.
I know I often sound like a prohibitionist of Jollification.
Jus wait till I trow some leg.
Is jus' that I don't want to deaf in the process or support slackness.
Remember! If it get too slack....
It can drop off.
Is cyar tyre I talking 'bout. Cho, why some a unnu mind so....
Later could be Greater.
You certainly take me back to memory lane at winford clubs, those days were sweet and treasure beach was treasure beach.
We all put on our dancing shoes and rock to the beat. bring back those good olds days.
Turey, can't you just let something slide?
Love to dance ,you make me laugh but man free still fi express one self, now back to the main topic ,yes i wish i could revisit those years, and wish the youth of today could have that experience, the selector back then used to play calypso and soul music you dont hear that anymore, they change the style so the slackness and the daggering is the in thing .
My winter hibernation is setting in LTD.
I'll soon slide into my cave.
Oh, this is the reason I don't dance anymore.....awesome. Thought I was a prude but the dancing and music is no longer my game....too harsh, rude and out of line.
I dont know if its just me but i cant get enough of MR.TARRUS RILEY (SHE \S ROYAL) this song has no significant meaning to me but everytime i play this song i have to play it over and over again and it just bring back that true reggae vibes, any way try it,its most affective when the pot a boil and the snow a fall with a hot red stripe ,rasta just me it bring back that old TREASURE BEACH vibes so check it out and tell them how you feel
Why do they call the music that been play now a days dancehall music ,when you go to club, that is mostly what they/re playing and no body even dancing ,but they will come to work monday morning telling you how the dance was hot, i just dont understand.
