I think this has been discussed before, but any recommnedations on webite designers for set up and hosting? Could someone give me the names of companies who provide these services? Who does this website?
And while we are on the subject, when shall we expect the new TBNet design?
And also, how is that survey coming along?
I recommend 1&1 for Web hosting. 1and1.com. Both prices and service are excellent.
Eric Leverson -- webmaster@treasurebeach.net -- designed the website www.villahikaru.com. He's since turned it over to Mary Croteau -- gomair@gmail.com, who's both maintained it well and embellished it. Go have a look!
Designing a website is not as difficult as it sounds. You just have to buy the domain and follow the simple steps.
I believe you can check with Sean Chedda in TB as he has done numerous websites. Ask anyone in the community for him.
Designing a website by following simple steps is simple but it won't give you a very distinctive look or feel. I would get an expert web designer, have that person responsible for coding too, and then find a good place to host your domain. The pictures and the writing are also exceedingly important.
I'd be happy to give some advice on hosting locations and general web creation.
To answer the questions asked in your original post...
-Rebecca and I created the design of the site. I do all the maintenance and the web coding.
-TreasureBeach.Net is hosted at hostmysite.com. They're a little more expensive than the el-cheapo GoDaddys of the hosting world, but they provide superior serve. GoDaddy (which I use for other projects) is a good place to start a web site, as are many other companies.
-Survey has languished, but we're going to use it in the near future.
-Web Redesign...SOON COME! :-)
Hope this helps,
-Eric
The templates are already a part of the domain - so that look that you want can be chosen by the designer, which is the look that you want. In other words the background or special look is pretty much built in. When you add your pics and wording then this is what makes it complete!
It depends on how much you have to spend on it. However if you can afford a professional designer then that is the way to go.
Of course you will have to have your plan when you are designing the website. This also includes pics and the story or what you want to advertise or say. Trust me I was shocked to see how simple it is - I had one done by someone and then I maintained it myself - meaning I updated it from time to time with fresh pics and improving on it periodically.
