does anyone remember growing yeast and drinking the water. Does anyone remember how it was done.

Careful of swallowing live yeast cells. If there is any cut between mouth and stomach, I've heard there is a chance of infection by the yeast.

Food yeast was produced in May Pen during the last war. It was to fortify the flour I believe.

Many older heads remember yeast tables too.

I use food yeast regularly for taste and nutritional content. There are no live cells in the dry yellow powder. It is available in some health food shops.
