sunny
I cannot be the only visitor who feels that when in TB Magic happens. Every day I am there, every day, every evening something happens that cannot be explained other than to say "Magic". I live practically on the beach in Southern California and should be very happy here but there are rarely moments I can explain as magic.

I would like to hear from others who feel this way - I have told stories of my trips (a mere two but feel like lifetimes). I would like to hear about someone else's magical moments- It's too quiet on TB.net!!!

Once I dropped a Red Stripe from a table. It landed straight up. Nothing broke and nothing spilled... It was really weird...

Spending Tuesday evening at the Parchment Academy graduation was a magical moment for me. It was just so great to be able to share in the celebration of these young adults who worked so hard to achieve their goal. All of us singing and laughing and enjoying the celebration really warmed my heart. And God bless Susan, she was so overjoyed and proud of each student the tears of joy just kept falling every time another student came up and hugged her.

During either my first trip (1989) or my second (?) to Treasure beach I stayed at 4Ms guest house. After a long road trip on the motorcycles the previous day I was saddle sore. The two friends I was traveling with decided to take a trip to YS falls. I stayed back and hung around at the bar. Miss Effy was having a birthday party for her nephew I believe and there were many Jamaican people in attendance. Miss Effy asked me (actually made me)partake of the great food and drinks they had to offer. All of the people there treated me like family. There was also a band and I beleive the guy who played the guitar was named Martin. I knew then that this was special place.

Our last trip we finally made it to Fisherman's Bar. Vicus and his son Andy greeted us warmly. We told them we had never been to their place but had heard good things about it. I told Vicus that I also heard he made the best soup around, little did I know he was cooking some up. He showed us around. Then he appears with two HUGE bowls of soup for us. It was the best soup I ever had. We spent hours there watching the baby goats and chatting over Red Stripes with really nice people. We will be back again to see them!

Hi Littlemamalisa, to me finding Treasure Beach in itself was magical. My names Johnny and come from Scotland,7 years ago when I decided to visit Jamaica for the 1st time I was reading the Rough Guide to and came across the section on TB and the very name took my attention as I made the association between Treasure Beach and one of my favourite novels as a child Treasure Island. That the guide also said that TB was the chicest place in J to visit I decided that TB was the place for me. On my return to Scotland and now aware that TB had a website imagine my amazement when reading the history section to come across the story of the scottish ship which had sank of the shore and how the survivors made TB there home,I sense that one of my ancestors was on that ship as I feel at home when in TB and have been returning ever since for as long as I can, managed 16 weeks one year and Im excited about returning for a short break in the middle of Sept so soon come.

It was our last night in TB on my first trip there. My two friends were set on going to bed after dinner. I was upset - wanted to squeeze every last second of this wonderful place before having to leave the next morning. I said "Come on ladies, you can sleep on the plane" but they were dead set on hitting the hay when we returned from dinner. We proceeded to dinner - thankfully at my favorite, Olivers Dutch Pot. As we walked back to Tiano Cove after dinner I felt like crying! I just wanted to get into town find something fun to do - hang out with friends - say goodbye, what ever! Anything but go to bed at 8:30 on our LAST night. HAPPILY when we returned to Tiano, Ms. Winnie and her crew were hosting an impromptu party at the bar around back. Wow, talk about Magic! I convinced my friends who were drawn to the music and the other guests and visitors dancing. It was just what I needed to say goodbye to TB! Later I sat with Ms. Winnie on the front porch to say goodbye to the last revelers. We had a memorable conversation about life and love and Treasure Beach! I cried tears mixed of sadness and joy and went to bed with the satisfaction of spending my last night this way :-)

Amazing Johnny! I recently took my sister who's favorite place in the world is Scotland. She was drawn to Scotland (enough to visit 7 times while living in Europe). While I was aware of the history of TB she wasn't until we got there. She asked about the red skinned, green eyed beauty of some of the people we encountered. I explained a little about the history and she was absolutely amazed! We were just speaking about that very thing yesterday! She wondered if this amazing connection was coincidence. I told her "All part of the Magic!" We both are looking for a way to get back ASAP! Thank you for your story :-) :-)

I've been in both Negril and at Sunset Resort in TB when there was a wedding being had. Although I tried to stay incognito both times everyone was insistent that I partake in the food/drinks and festivities. Also, in TB people have been very kind in asking me if I wanted to ride to Junction, Black River or Manchester with them just for something else to do or to go to the grocery store with no expectations of anything in return.....Kory and his family are like family to me and were almost immediately the first time I stayed there. Rebeccas and her crew are awesome....Although there are many other places I would like to still visit...TB is one place I will go when I just need some 'me' time.

We are looking forward to sharing the magic with our son, his wife, and their 2 likkle ones when they come with us for the first 2 weeks of our 3 month stay. Sunrise, the smiling kids going to school, stunning sunsets, yummy food, warm people-- it's all wonderful. When the lights went out last year, and so many gathered at Jack Sprat's for soup or pizza, the stars and sea were so beautiful. Jeanie and Tom

Two months after my Mother's death in 1995, we went to Jamaica for a vacation. I had a dream where my Mother came to me. All she said was "God loves you". It was a dream unlike any other I have ever had. She was dressed in a white gown which we buried her in. The next morning, I was so shaken but happy at the same time because it was so real. Our maid came to our room, and I felt my Mother was looking at me through her eyes. Same expression, same loving spirit. Top that one? Jean
