How about calling up a travel agency? It's the sure way of knowing.

Not sure if the person asking this question about going to Cuba is a US citizen. US citizens are not allowed to go to Cuba. Sometimes exceptions can be made if you are traveling with a group who is doing research, educational projects or a religious group that is pre-approved by the Cuban government. I know in the past that there have been US citizens who do go to Cuba via Jamaica or Canada, and the trick was NOT to have your US passport stamped. If US customs sees this stamp in your passport when you re-enter the US at some point, you may be subject to heavy fines in the neighborhood of 5000.00-8000.00USD and even criminal prosecution.

Here is a trip report on jamaicans.com

http://www.jamaicans.com/tourist/jletters/CubatoJamaica1.shtml

I assume they are American because they talk about NOT having their passport stamped.
I too dream of going to Cuba but I don't want to pay the fine and/or go to jail if I got caught.

I took the boat from Port Antonio to Santiago de Cuba in '91.

The people were welcoming and ready to dance and laugh. Always signs of good health.

They have kept closer to their Taino roots than us and are practicing organic farming on a large scale. Their urban gardens produce a significant portion of their diet.

I am more concerned about freedom of information about the realities there than about their free speech.

I just need to ask a question..... Is there a Spiritual Retreat Centre in Treasure Beach?

I'm not sure if there is Curious Spiritualist.

What facilities and surroundings do you envision that such a retreat would offer?

A quiet hide-a-away, where one can go and get in touch with your inner self and nature....and being in tune with oneness or your higher self. Treasure Beach seems the perfect place for such serenity, maybe a nice get away in the mountains somewhere.

Thanks Curious Spiritualist, I sense there are many that are looking for these qualities in a place.

Quiet is up there with Safety First.

Trouble No One and No Evil should already be understood for anyone putting foot within this sanctuary aka hide-a-way.

I'd like to hear more from you and others, TB residents and Earth citizens, about your ideas for such places.

Sorry we hijacked your thread Cuba.
