Could someone tell me where Round Hill is?
And how would you get there from Jakes?
Thanks

Go to Pedro Cross (Cross Road) and don't turn left or right; just go straight up the hill after the intersection.

Do you mean Round Hill Resort ?
If so it is just outside of MoBay on the Negril side.
Once you come out of the hills coming from TB, and down to the main highway, turn left and go a little ways and the resort will be on your right side.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike

Don't go too far on that road past the gas station unless you're in a tank. Its in terrible condition.

No, I am talking about Roundhill around TB. So it is considered part of TB? Bad road, is the road in Roundhill TB the road you are saying is bad?

Round Hill, up the road from Crossroads near T/B, has one of the worst roads imaginable. Do not attempt to navigate it without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Residents often take the long way and come down from the top instead of attempting to make the climb. I would hate to see it during or after a heavy rainstorm.

The views from Round Hill are gorgeous. The weather is cooler than in T/B.

In regards to Round Hill roads. Why the residents of that area not get in touch with their MP and get the road/roads fixed.
There seems to be much development going on in that area.I saw some of the lovely homes being built so I guess after it is fully developed the roads will then be repaired.
GOOD LUCK TO US ALL.

Round Hill is not in Treasure Beach but Pedro Plains.

Round Hill is still part of the whole T/B area, but more up in the Pedro Plains area, just like Billy's Bay, Frenchman and other surrounding areas etc.........considered to be part of T/B.

Does anybody have a set of the maps sold by the Survey Dept on Charles St in Kingston that shows Jamaica in about a dozen or more fold out maps?

The TB one/s should answer our borderline definition questions.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By squarepeg on Thursday, July 30, 2009 - 07:09 am: Edit Post

Thanks. This has MORE than answered my questions. I know Roundhill is part of St. Elizabeth. And St. Elizabeth is part of Jamaica. And Jamaica is part of the planet earth....
We can now move on...

I would not say Round Hill is a part of treasure Beach.Everyone wants to be from TB.
Round Hill residents Post Office is Southfield P.O.

Unless there was a recent change, Round Hill residents pick up mail at TB P.O. I went to Pedro Plains Primary and back then kids used to walk down to the P.O. for mail. It's simple to find. Just ask at Cross Roads and they will tell you it's "jus up di hill".

Ha Ha you hit the nail right on the head. Give it up people, TB is not all about beaches and your side of town, plus this is an ongoing issue of who is or what region is TB. Maybe the government should be asked to move the TB post office to the beach just to make YOU ALL happy. If I may recall the PO was named Pedro Plains PO.

ONCE AND FOR ALL. IT WAS NEVER PEDRO PLAINS P.O
IT WAS TREASURE BEACH P.O
It was my grandaunt that owned the house they used at that time. I slept there, eat there, played there and even helped to clean the post office floor.
Don't tell me about this post office.
I KNOW "TODAY"
THE RESIDENTS OF ROUND HILL HAS TO GO TO SOUTHFIELD FOR THEIR MAIL.
BY THE WAY THIS IS.... "FOR GIVE IT UP"... THE TREASURE BEACH POST OFFICE WAS ONCE BROUGHT DOWN TO CALABASH BAY POSTAL AGENCY BUT HAS RETURNED TO IT'S ORIGINAL PLACE.

Treasure Beach starts from Great Bay. If all these places were in Treasure Beach, and as you all seem to think Treasure Beach is the 'it' place. Why wasn't Pedro Plains police station called Treasure Beach police station?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Give it up on Saturday, August 01, 2009 - 11:49 pm: Edit Post

Thanks for the info "Facts.....", I stand corrected but was not aware that TB PO was moved to Calabash Bay PA at one time. When was this? Wasn't the PA created because the PO was too far and inconvenient?

Hear ye, hear ye TREASUEREGAL, BLACKGAL and citizenofTB. Pedro Plains..."Plains" as in flat land as in not a mountain. Round Hill is located just below Munro College which makes it located in the mountains and not on Pedro Plain and therefore not even remotely close to Treasure Beach. Unless I am of course mistaken and that there is another Round Hill down here in Treasure Beach.

Also, anyone from anywhere can use any P.O..you just have your mail sent where is most convenient. So just because you live in Round Hill does not mean you can't have your mail directed to Calabash P.A.

FYI - Treasure Beach is the unofficial name for this area so as far as I know there are no real boundry demarcations on a map

Wow what an exciting thread. All from one simple question. Mountains out of mole hills.

Boy, I had no idea that a simple question could spark so much debate!!
If the residents don't know where TB starts and ends, the answer then is this: Who knows and who cares!

GIVE IT UP...I KNOW FOR SURE THAT THE POST OFFICE AT ONE TIME WAS OPERATING FROM THE CALABASH BAY P.A
I WENT THERE TO DO BUSINESS THAT THE POSTAL AGENCY WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO HANDLE.
THE TWO LADIES WERE WORKING LIKE "TWO PEA IN A POD"
THE SPACE WAS SO SMALL.
WHY DOES IT MATTER SO MUCH WHERE WE ARE FROM.
JUST THANK GOD WE ARE FROM A PLACE THAT WE CAN RETURN TO IF NEEDS BE.
THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD THAT DO NOT HAVE A HOMELAND TO RETURN TO.
LET US ALL JUST GIVE GOD THANKS FOR THIS PRIVILEGE WE HAVE AS JAMAICANS.

Just for clarification, the Treasure Beach P.O. used to be in a house at the deep corner just up from the police station. They had to relocate, but their new location was not finished building, so for awhile the Postmistress from TB P.O. was at Calabash Bay P.A. sharing the space. Now the Treasure Beach P.O. is located further up at the plaza across the road from Pedro Plains Primary. I imagine you could call it the Pedro Plains P.O. if you want to. Hope this settles it.

That's why some people did not excel in school because they were always afraid to ask questions. It's doesn't mean people are angry when they ask questions, but if you don't know the answers then you should ask. And it does matter where we are from, that's why we ask the many questions so that we can learn of this wonderful community coming out of the "food basket" parish (another topic). Have a good day everyone and please continue to educate an uninformed person such as myself. Ask ask ask, that's how we learn.
