I must confess to now being a TB.net addict, I'm checking this site sometimes up to 10 times daily to check for new posts. One would think I don't have productive things to do but I guess I like to keep up with the happenings...sometimes the posts bring a smile or a frown or even a puzzled look. So yes its 2:50 a.m and I'm scanning for new posts....unfortunately none. Thanks to the webmasters and all contributors to this site as I might not be 'home' but I feel as if I'm able to share in the happenings. I've been visiting this site for the past 8 years, though much frequently in the last 2 years and I'm loving it as always.

I too have been addicted for some time! I guess we could have worse addictions, hu? At least this one brings us close to the place we love. The only time I don't look at these postings daily is when I am IN TB! Happily, only 4 more sleeps til I can be computer and cell phone FREE for several days in a row and in my happy place :-)

Just a RELAX for this trip bobbyk :-) I need some down time from the pressures of life and looking forward to enjoying the positive vibes of TB. Plenty of time for this old lady to find her place in JA but not this trip :-)

Hello All = Back at home after 10 Glorious days in Treasure Beach. I know, I was only supposed to be there for 5 but after a near death experience on a plane ride from Ft.Lauderdale to MoBay we were able to extend our trip! As soon as the fog clears in my head I can sit down and get our great story together! TB has not disappointed me yet and our trip was full of incredible days and nights. As soon as I can get my pictures downloaded and sorted I will be back to irritate everyone by posting them :-)

Hi Lisa - curious to hear if you saw the 100-200 police/cadets on your visit and/or on the street?

Ok everyone, I am slowly coming out of the fog - - This time in TB was exceptional due to the fact that our plane taking off from Ft. Lauderdale to MoBay almost crashed! We were delayed almost two full days of our vacation in TB! Luckily I took the advise of Rebecca and purchased trip insurance for the first time. We actually extended our trip by 4 nights! Why go home Friday when we could stay til Sunday, hu?!

Once we did finally arrive in TB the magic continued! Happy to be alive we took a new approach to enjoying our stay. They say that while in TB you either do EVERYTHING or NOTHING - well this time it seemed we got stuck either on our own incredibly comfortable porch at Fairhill Villa or at Eggys Beach Bar. I knew there was a reason why I never made it to this glorious and magical bar on my first trip - I would been frozen in time and never moved!

day just turned into night

We nearly forgot to take pictures the first two days and when we finally did - it was of the goat next door to the villa??

To Curious - Do not fly SPIRIT AIR! We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale at 6:15am and planned to surprise a couple of friends in Miami (who turned out to be out of town - so much for surprises). Anyway - after spending several hours in the airport we boarded our very short flight to MoBay. Shortly after takeoff there was a small explosion in the front of the aircraft. The cabin filled with white and brown/black smoke. Everyone was frozen and there was alot of confusion. My sister and I actually prepared ourselves for a crash landing in the ocean with the possibility of death. It was completely surreal. The steward just sat there buckled in with a blank frightened look on his face. We felt the plane turning around and shortly after that the pilot announced that we were turning around to go back to the airport. The temperature in the plane had at this point risen to about 120 degrees and we felt as if we were cooking. We hovered in the air for what seemed like an eternity. Once we landed we discovered why - they were staging for an emergency landing. We landed far out on the tarmac and 4-6 fire trucks approached. Clearly there was a fire. We saw all the emergency vehicles parked and ready for us to evac. We were all shouting to open the emergency doors, the temp in the plane was getting quite unbearable. The steward finally got up and they started passing out waters to everyone. They said they were not authorized to open the doors. Finally they pulled us up to the gate and let us off the plane. VERY FRIGHTENING!!! The airline was HORRIBLE to us. Imagine trying to keep the incident quiet. They had three poor ladies trying to book 165 passengers on new flights on a holiday weekend in Jamaica. Good Gracious - What a nightmare!!!! We were one of the lucky ones who actually got a flight out Friday night. Some had to wait til Sunday.

Holy Mackeral....I flew Spirit Air once to MBJ and will never do it again. It was worse than Southwest...That would have been horrifying. Looks like someone was watching over that plane.

Reading your post is like reading a novel little mamalisa. I've flown Spirit many times and often express my preference for them. Wow! Could you say what date and time was your flight? I'd like to do some checking into this. So glad you're safe. I always enjoy your pics. Best regards gorgeous.
