Is there a market for bottled natural juices in T.Beach? I am experimenting with cucumber and passion juice as a healthy combination, there would be no additives or preservatives. Just want to get some feedback from persons who would be interested or those with suggestions.

No additives or preservatives. Local stores would want to know "What's the shelf-life", refrigeration or none, etc. If it's good, you might want to keep the ingredients secret. Monkey see monkey do.

The shelf-life is relatively short between 7-10 days. Refrigeration is a must as we use no preservatives. We would aim at delivering the juices on the same day as they are bottled as we want to maintain a standard quality. Local businesses can purchase small quantities of juices frequently as we would deliver possibly free of charge.

The flavor and cost would both be important. If you use glass bottles which could be recycled that would be a big plus. We don't need any more plastic bottles littering up TB.

At this point we are considering using PET bottles, but we are open to suggestions and will research the viability of them. We are a small business and at this moment we don't have the machinery required to do glass bottling. I am a TB native and I do understand your concerns about recycling and the littering of our community.

sounds YUMMY! I think you have a GREAT idea! While we were there we made our own fresh squeezed juice. It was fun and good, but we looked around to find someone to buy from first.

what are PET bottles

PET bottles are made from polyethylene terephthalate, it is derived from oil and is formed by a particular reaction between alcohol and acid. I will not pretend to be versed on the components of PET bottles as my knowledge of it is just basic stuff from sites. PET bottles are the type which are typically used in the production of bottled water.

PET is just another form of plastic. It is not bio-degradable and create the same garbage problem as the water bottles.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Cuban I am aware that it is not bio-degradable and I would so much prefer to use glass bottles, currently I will continue my research and garner input from well-wishing folks like yourself. The problem I currently face is a lack of funding hence this some what prevents me from purchasing machinery which would aide in glass bottling. I am a university student and it is next to impossible to solicit funding without collateral. Npnetheless I will persist in my research, not giving up easily.

Hi Sol Passions, when the cells of a fruit are opened by the juice extraction process, certain substances are released that cause the browning and spoiling of the drink.

I encourage the use of substances that are tolerated by our bodies that inhibit this process. Vit C is one. The VitC in citrus may be enough, you will have to experiment and see if you need Vit C powder.

Properly cleansed recycled rum bottles are what we used long ago. Lots of bars lots of bottles.

All the best with your venture.

A way of getting people interesting in buying your juice you should go into the communities and provide potential costumers with a tasting sample.
