The ambulance is currently not working, and the parts needed are being sourced.

THANK YOU SO MUCH BREDS for letting us know. You might be surprised how many people in the village check this site daily, and this is very important information to share here so we can pass it along to people who do not have internet. Please also let us know when the ambulance is up and running again.

The TBWG will be having another free medical clinic from July 20 to July 23. The last time the BREDS ambulance was not working and parts had to be sourced it took MONTHS for the parts to be found because the ambulance is quite old and parts are not readily available. If the ambulance is not back on the road by next Monday which is the day the clinic at the TBWG starts, couldn't the BREDS nurse go down there and help out? It seems this would be a win-win situation. The nurse wouldn't be sitting around the BREDS office with nothing to do and still getting paid. Also, I believe this nurse is a recent graduate and is fairly inexperienced, so she could definitely have the opportunity to learn from the experienced medical personnel that will be at the TBWG.

After the TBWG clinic is over, she could then walk through the community from house to house and test for blood pressure and diabetes. This would be another useful service. And if people had a medical question they could speak to her in the privacy of their homes.

If people could contribute a little donation that would help pay her salary because BREDS is probably paying for a nurse who has no work to do.

I believe that there are person's on here posting their personal issues with the breds nurse and thats very disresrestful and should not be posted. we should all be happy we have somebody out in our own community do such good work. I personally went in the ambulance and the way she too care of me i said you really know what you are doing. Futher more its not easy driving in the back of an ambulance and to her its love for the heart. You people need to act more mature and stop thinking negatively. She went on work experiences several places such as health centres, nursing homes and more so lets stop thinking negatively and say to ourselves what can we do to help.

This is a wonderful idea. So why no response from BREDS or the BREDS nurse? I would think BREDS would be FOR sending the nurse to places in the community where she could do some good. This is assuming she's not be put on unpaid leave while the ambulance parts are being sourced.

I'm increasingly amazed when people come to this site to tell others what to do. I believe BREDS has it's own staff, policies, and procedures in place. If they have the smarts, and the time, to tell Breds what to do, then they surely could use those same resources to form their own organization, staff it, and run it as they please.

This is akin to telling TBNet what to do with its own website. At this point I have to agree with "positive vibes" above.

Cool, you might be misinterpreting some of the remarks. I may be naive but I read them as suggestions. The nurse sounds like a good person with very useful skills. The TBWG sounds like a fine organization that is having a medical clinic. I don't see any problem with organizations working together if the resources are there.

I understand your point of view Working Together but, speaking of "together, if you combine this thread with the other "BREADS Nurse' and "Treasurebeachnetworkrebecca" threads, you can't help but pick up an ill vibe.

Constructive criticism is just that, i.e. constructive. However, when there is this constant drumbeat of negativism, then it becomes just that: negative! I mean, if it walks like a duck..., well, you get my drift.

This is my third appeal to ask contributors to the forum to just "cease and settle" if you know what I mean. Just about every thread is coming up with bashing, left, right and centre. Funny how everything has become so negative. Maybe its time the forum take "summer vacation". Guys you need to cool out your headspace.

This site is becoming a bit of a soap-opera. Remember anyone with a computer and a connection can watch and may not want to stay in TB because of inadequate services and other faults they may find. Health Care in my opinion should be of great interest for all residents of TB. If we prepare ourselves for that we can not see, do we not stand to have a better outcome than not being prepared for anything. Stay strong and together, we can not stop evolution of growth and if you want it, it's best to be prepared for what will come. We all need to work hard for a better tomorrow, Today.
ONE LOVE TB.

We cannot stop the evolution of growth Nigel but we do have the powers to direct it. If we bother.

The thing i dont get it all the people that sit on their computer and leave a comment on this site are probably doing so from an A/C'ed room with a nice meal and a fridge fool of nice cold drinks, but what about the people who are less fortunate? the real hard working people who made treasure beach what it is, as far as i can see if the people who complain on this forum put half the energy into helping someone, treasure beach would be on a map of its own, i think treasure beach is a template that should be used to better Jamaica. as an outsider i look at the people of treasure beach and see that you are lucky set of people...Lets not forget there are places that don't even have running water!!! at least you have an ambulance to look at (even though its broken most of the time) that doesn't change the fact someone took the time out to look out for another. i come on this site daily and forgive me if im wrong but i have never heard someone say thank god i live in such i peaceful place, its complain about Mr. Henzell this, We don't want that, im not saying you dont have rights but instead of complaining be grateful you don't hear shots everyday the most u hear about is petty thieving, i put it to all the people who leave comments on this site, if you were asked is there classicism in jamaica what would you say, im guessing you would say yes, but if asked do you discriminate because of ones class you would say no.....one again my brothers and sisters stop the foolish fighting in the words of the great bob "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds".

Now these are the kinds of posts I want to see. People who are asking for positive vibes and kind words and appreciation for what we have, are now outnumbering the ones who just seek to make people who are trying look bad. Ever notice how there is a question for everything? And what happen to the thread "Dem Good Ole Days? No one has anything memorable to say and bring back a smile to our faces? Can we see some of that again, PLEEZ?
