Summer Arts Workshop

at the Treasure Beach Womens Group Center
Monday July 13 - Friday July 17
8:30 - 12:30
Workshop has already been filled
Why post this if the workshop is full?
I would guess they are posting it just to let you know all the TBWG does. Maybe we can get more details on what the Summer Arts Workshop entails and what types of arts they will be covering this summer. I know in years past they have had some really interesting stuff!
We are pleased to announce the details of the free annual summer arts workshop headed by Jeanne Genus.
Jeanne a blessed member of the Women's group fundraisers for materials and donates her time for the week. The 25 children will be doing all kinds of art work including clay modeling, bead work, painting, dance and story telling.
The summer workshop fills up so quickly that often we don't even need to advertise it! We hope to post some photo's of the children having a great time.
If anyone is interested for next year please don't hesitate to contact us.
I stopped by the Women's Group yesterday and saw the Summer Camp in full swing. I wanted to go!!
There were numerous activities going on. The was a self-portrait table, beads table, collage table, and clay table. I was told the afternoon was going to be filled with drama and dance. How fun!!

The week long summer camp was culminated in a great song, dance, and drama show yesterday. Those of us who attended were treated to a variety of entertainment.
The program started with folks songs and rounds being sung. Then on to a homage to Michael Jackson with choreographed dances to a few of his songs including "Beat It" and "Thriller".
We were then treated to a few skits written and acted out by the camp participants. These were impressive. I kept thinking to myself, "They created this in a week?"
The program ended with the participants putting on some good dance music and pulling many of us in the audience out on the dance floor. How fun!
And that was the overriding theme to the whole week. Fun! Thanks to all who contributed in cash and kind to make this week possible, especially Jeanne Genus. You really are a treasure for our children Miss Jeanne.

Thanks for sharing Rebecca. I love the pictures!
Camps are a very good investment. It was there my parents realized I had "unique" talent. They sent me to tutors after that. Thanks Mom.
