Hello Mr Stephen. This is a follow-up in regards to my question about my piece of land that was given to me from my parents but was wondering if I could go ahead and get my title for mine seeing I have my survey diagram and had been to see a Lawyer before and produce my diagram to him but stop the transaction because of circumstances that was at that time more important to take care of.
I am not holding the registered title and that was my question to you before. Can I go ahead and get my title for my piece of land without presenting the original title.

I assume that the original title which you are referring to is the title for the entire land holding of which you will be getting a portion thereof. If the land which u are applying for is part of this larger holding you may need to also apply for subdivision approval; the survey diagram should also be less than 7 years ago. We will also need to establish the root of title for at least 30 years; property tax certificate; transfer document i.e. a deed of conveyance and the names, addresses, ages and TRN's of 2 persons who live near or adjoining the lands in question who will be able to sign declarations.
