does anyone know the name of the tree in the upper left hand corner of the "tresure beach.net" web page. I assume the tree to be the tree on the point in front of the Folichan property. the trees seem to grow out of the rocks.

Not sure if this is the name of the tree - but we call the tree "Button Wood Tree". The location has also gotten this name as well "Button Wood". It's an old tree - I am lookin at 50 and it was there from I was a kid and much older I guess. Does anyone know the approximate age of this tree?

That is a great question. I do not know the age of the tree, but my aunt use to live in the house on the property that is now owned by Folichan and everytime I go the website I gaze at the tree and reminisce. I even dreamed last night that I was walking along the beach and passed by the tree. Yes, it is called "Button Wood Tree".

Keep up the good work Treasure Beach.Net. I really enjoy the website.

Regards.

I feel the same way too about this tree. It holds so much memories for me as a child. This was one of our favourite swimming areas when we were kids. We used to throw our clothes on the rocks or on a limb and off in the water we'd go. When we got tired of the water or if we didn't want to bathe we would climb the tree and relax on a comfortable branch. Sometimes we would be swimming for hours until our parents sent for us fearing the worst, as we were gone too long; but this area was so private and relaxing to swim then. This tree and "Big Cassia Tree" are probably two of the most famous of all trees in TB. What a landmark!! I still want to know the age of this tree. Can some older person tell us if you remember this tree as a kid - someone who is over 50 years, as I remember it as a kid and I am nearing 50.
