Staying in a Villa

My husband and I and another couple have never been to Treasure Beach and have never stayed in a villa. We are sold on Treasure Beach and are seriously thinking of renting a villa. The idea of having our own pool and home is very appealing. What concerns us is having a staff. We are not the fancy types who want people to wait on us all day long. We would like to hear what others have to say about this. I am not against having our meals cooked for us, and I don't want to clean when I go on vacation but I would feel uncomfortable with people in tuxedos serving us when I am wearing a t-shirt.

advice please

you most certainly do not have to worry about the staff intruding on your privacy and making you feel uncomfortable - i am not sure if anyone living in treasure beach even owns a tuxedo :-)

villa staff are there to make your stay enjoyable, you will find them very friendly and helpful without being overbearing
the staff in the villa can tell you the runnings in the area - always a plus

in many villas the staff come in the morning and cook your breakfast, clean up and go away till later in the day when they would come back cook dinner clean up and then leave again - depending on the villa some have staff that live on the property

the staff will most likely be wearing t-shirts as well, book your villa and go and relax
your party will enjoy themselves and don't be surpirsed if you are wanting to return again - have you been following the board lately? check littlemamalisa's postings and see how she just fell in love with the treasure beach

see you soon

The first time we stayed at a villa. I had the same thoughts. Never had someone wait on me before. Relax and Enjoy. The people who work at the villas I've stayed at have been wonderful. Are friendly and very helpful. Most of the time you don't even know they are there.
And I would never expect them to wait on me all day. I'm so use to making my own bed that I would make it in TB and we would laugh about when they came to make my bed.
Having a pool is great. My advice is go for it and Enjoy. Great food and conversations with wonderful people.

Tuxedos? I never laugh so hard. Sorry, but you won't be finding any tuxedos in Treasure Beach. At most villas, the staff comes in early to cook breakfast, and while you are eating they may sweep or make beds. After they clean up breakfast dishes you are left alone until dinner is served to mix your own drinks, make your own lunch, etc. Most visitors to Treasure Beach villas find that they become friends with the staff and are like part of the family. Try it, you'll probably like it and want to come back for more.

Don't worry about tuxedos; the folks who staff Treasure Beach villas are very informal -- probably wearing T-shirts like yours, given them by former guests. At any of the villas they'll cook for you to your taste, absolutely spare you cleaning when on vacation, and be as unobtrusive as you wish.

OMG. You'd be lucky to find your staff always wearing shoes. Some of them do have uniforms, kind of.
We felt the same way you do. The closest I have to staff at home is someone coming in occasionally for heavy cleaning. Trust me - having every meal made for you, served to you, and having the dishes and kitchen cleaned is something I could take for the rest of my life. Having my bed made, my laundry done, the dusting done - wonderful. I was so worried about being intruded upon. The staff was 100% respectful - never saw me undressed, never accidentally wandered into any place they shouldn't be. These people are informal but are very aware of what is acceptable.

As others have said, I made friends with the staff and truly look forward to seeing them every year.

Been there, done that. Once you get there, formalities are forgotten. Don't worry, relax. It'll be fine.

Hi there ,
We stayed at sparkling waters and would highly recommend it for you and your friends , we stayed there for teo weeks and stayed in two villas and both were exceptional! Very relaxed atmosphere and you can chose what time suits you for breakfast and dinner, and we were never intruded on , your privacy a very respected, very kind friendly staff and excellent food.
Fantastic pools and gardens
Or we stayed at dubloon and it's absolutely superb too !
There are many great villas to stay in , but none of them have staff wearing tuxedos , everywhere is of a more relaxed down to earth vibe !
Enjoy your holiday :-)

Talk about the tuxedo treatment? Treasure bEACH IS VERY LOW KEY, OFF THE BEATEN TRACK and very relaxing and refreshing.

We stayed at a small place called Button Bay Beach Getaway at Fort Charles in Treasure Beach. The amenities, the service, food for the price you cannot beat it.
