I would love to come to TB for a week of R & R> However the fare from any airport is so much that I might have to settle for Rosehall resort. About 15 mins from Montego Bay airport. I would prefer to be in TB. I have not boof yet but will book somewhere this week.

Note everyone....I am not complaining about the price, Just lettingg you all know I do not have it right now, The fare X 2 is a little steep now. See u all next time

You could make a posting and find someone else who is going to Treasure Beach and share the cost of a cab ride.

My goodness "I Wonda" how much did someone quote you for pick up from the airport???

You are settling for Rosehall Resort, a Hilton property where the rates start at $119.00/room and increase from there.

There are many fine accomodations in Treasure Beach for well under that price.

One week in accomodations that will cost you approx. $50 a night (you can get a sea side room for about $65 a night) and you have made up the cost of your airport transfers and a likkle extra as well.

Maybe you need to look at the situation from another perspective.

I am on your side Wonda. TB vacations have become too expensive, especially the taxi service. Don't get me wrong, TB is a far way from the airport, that's why we have to settle for places closer to the airport, although TB is our favorite vacation spot.

The fare from any airport to TB is more than the plane fare from USA or Canada (When on sale)One can get a 3 days cruise with what it cost to go to and fro TB.. It is such a pity because TB is such a relaxing place "beauty untouch", pity pity pity. But when I have it I will pay to go there. If anyone can do anyhting to lower the price it would benefit TB villa owners and citizens very much. Listen up: I am not knocking on anyone so nobody do't start any hate email now. I will pay when I have it. Right now I cannot.

However, my stay in the treasure beach area will cost me just over 300US for 8 nights for 2!

A vacation budget is a vacation budget. There are lots of ways to divvy it. Don't let a silly cab ride deter you!

I believe that's the approximate cost for the vehicle, not just for two people.

Prices of everything have went up in the last few years.I don't think the fare from MoBay to TB is out of line. There is no one I could hire where I live for that price. Think about the beautiful drive through Jamaica, and all the wonderful places to stop along the way which you would never experience. Not to mention great drivers and there knowledge. I think of it as part of my vacation. When I'm on the plane home, I'm the only one who had seen the countryside. People are amazed at where I've been and what I've seen.Drive is worth it.
Just a thought.

When I travel to and from Jamaica I have to take a taxi from my house to the airport, a twenty minute ride, and it costs $40 US, then another $40 on the way back. The $130 for almost three hours from MoBay to TB is a bargain!!!
