Its just amazing the abundance of mouth watering foods and herbs with medicinal value that abound treasurebeach and surrounding areas.Yet many people still stretch beyond their reach to buy food and medicine with pretty labels and "sweet talk" advertisements.Where do we go from here?
How about something like a Treasurebeach Foodbasket Festival featuring various local dishes made from local produce and medicinal teas, ointments and the like from local herbs.

This in my opinion could be a good way to promote treasurebeach in a natural, rich and healthy way that will help to promote what is truly the beat of treasurebeach.

I hope the strong community groups, schools, tourist sector, individuals and other civic minded groups will start something of this sort.

Let's put ideas together and utilize our natural resources to stay healthy and grow.

I agree totally with Native - how about a jerk festival?

I remember while attending St. Therea High School in Black River there was a man from Brompton who would come to the school on his bicycle with a aluminum box attached to the back selling jerk pork/chicken with fried dumplings and to date I still can taste it in my memory and Jamaican's have become more creative in jerking food so I think such a festival would be a tremendous success, especially if it was properly advertised.

Jerk festival sounds good to me! Mmmmmm, I'd type more on this but currently my fingers are covered in Delvin's sauce as I have a pound of his pork and two quarters of Canei's chicken sitting in front of me hot off the pan . . .

Sounds delicious. The food, herbs AND jerk. What food products grow best in TB? Which herbal products?

There are many jerk festivals - I like the idea of the herb and native plants. That would be a real original idea. You could always serve jerk.

Melons grow well in TB if there is enough water.
